This has to be one of the cheapest lineups of CPU's I've seen till date. I knew that a reduction was in the works, but I wasn't expecting such a steep drop.

Not LAWD... WTMC!!.... O_O
Unknown, just give him AUTOMATIC 1st place in the benchmark ranking thread you started... no need for him to post benchies!!
Grim, you LIVE in T&T with that computer?
-
My specifications are astonishing because I own a high performance Aleinware Desktop. I recently bought the Alienware Area-51 ALX with max specifications. I live in the U.S. and I'm glad to have come across this forum but I have no real connection with Trinidad except for visiting the country once for vacation.
-
Would you care to state the price?
How many months' salary did you have to pony up for such a system?
-
I dont think this dude works yet...unless he mows lawns the size the savannah each day. His profile says he's 16. How much did you pay for that system? In any event, welcome to GATT, reaper. If possible, do some bechies with 3dmark 06, pcmark, crystal mark etc etc and post a summary of your results in this thread (http://gatt.carigamers.com/index.php/topic,11064.0.html)
-
allyuh ease up on Grim der... with a system like that, i sure he only now recovering from the surgery to remove 1 1/2 Kidneys, 1 testicle, de left eye, 1 lung, and all his toe-nails :shakehead:
lol :cowboy:
-
It cost me close to $11,000 US with everything. It includes a cordless desktop and a 30" Widescreen flat panel. The standard version would have cost under $5,500US, but it would have been far inferior in my opinion. A few of my friends also bought the same thing and now there is an overclocking war going on between us, I chose to sit out for now.
-
lol @ 'inferior'. I doh even have a 30 inch TV.....
-
More importantly, post some PICS!!!
-
W1nTry, Grim beat meh Internet Connection
-
Yeah I see dat... de man boasting some impressive stats overall... crazy rig, crazy bandwidth...
-
not to mention almost every console since the 5th generation ......
-
OK, OK, *bangs gavel*
ORDER in tha court!!! lol
We gone off track here. Lets talk about them 'bess' PRICES dammit.
I think I'll get me one or two of those lower tier X2 CPUs and a good, cheap AM2 motherboard as well.
-
so .ahm... sax.. partin with ur 4200? :-)
not sure yet... was going use it in a system... but if by the time the cpu arrives I have no 'new computer' buyers, we can work out something...
but yuh real swift ... not even in the Trading thread and man calling dibs!!

This refund is for the following item(s):
Item: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 5200+ 2.6 GHz Processor
Reason for refund: Customer return
Your refund is being credited as follows:
Visa Credit Card [ending with *****]: $159.99
Total refund for this order: $159.99
I will have to write them to advise them that I am owed another US$23 or so for the 2 fans I ordered with the processor and like my shipping costs jump up as well
-
They should give you interest... it is a credit card you used and the bank would charge you additional for failure to meet payment at the stipulated date. They should give you the interest of the money since it has inconvenienced you :) well in an ideal world anyways...

AMD prepares more price cuts
Never say never again
By Paul Hales: Tuesday 07 August 2007, 11:51

AMD IS PLANNING some more price cuts. The firm and its competitor have been aggressively competing on price for some time now, a situation which lead to an AMD spokesman to announce last month that the firm had no plans to cut prices again.
Indeed, just a couple of weeks ago Gary Bixler, AMD's director of marketing for North America, told EE Times: "This year we made it a point to provide the channel with what it wants, which is a predictable business, a stable business."
"We haven't announced our next price move yet," he said, "so take that at face-value - another one is not imminent."
But if it wasn't imminent then, it is now.
A missive from Bixler's boys in AMD's "North America Regional Marketing Team" to its channel partners says the firm will cut the price of some of its socket AM2, Athlon 64 X2s on August 13th.
The Athlon 64 X2 4000+, the 4200+ and the X2 4400+ will all have their prices cut. The firm isn't saying by how much yet, however.
Yesterday the firm also cut the prices of some of its older, Rev E, Opterons.
With a bit of luck Intel will follow suit and the firms will soon be giving processors away with packets of cornflakes. µ
*W1nTry lines up for free cornflakes...*
-
*rubs hands with glee*
-
LAWD!!! More niceness again. If only the GPU makers would slash prices so drastically.....

LOL
yeh.. i know.. i figure like 12 o clock so , might see a lil press release or sumthin
cah blame a man for being impatient. lol..
-
Yuh know they have to 'sell out old stock'.
A convenient excuse. Bet 'yuh bottom dollar' if there was a price increase, the VERY NEXT DAY,
you would have seen a change in prices.
Businessmen in TnT LOVE that particular tactic.....
-
Indeed...but Intel's price cuts were in effect well before it was scheduled to happen...
-
hmm.. i couldn't wait..
bought a 4000 @ 70US
-
That's not so bad. I paid the same for my 3800+ a few short months ago.
-
Well check this out.
New AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ iwmc. (http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/33465/118/)

Steups.....

Especially with Barcelona out in days... sad really...
