Title: Where can i get some good Manga
Post by: BloodWar on September 06, 2007, 06:20:46 AM
Well i been learning to draw lately and alot of manga style drawings but i need something to compare my work to and maybe learn a little extra from it. I started reading Full Metal Alchemist lol first chapter was good but anywhere i can download it cuz id like to save pics and print out some. Any other good manga would do to excluding Bleach/Naruto/Death Note which i watch the anime for :).

The only place I can call off of the top of my head is World Plus in Tunapuna. See what they have or recommend.

To be frank, though, (and this is just some advice from me,) drawing anime-style is a good start in art, but don't let it be your only venture in art. There are a lot of styles in art out there, be sure to give them all a chance and develop your own style in the process. I think you'd see some seriously kickass art from people who are not anime artists, such as Terry Pratchett and Sean Chen.

Also, you might want to be aware that anime-style art, on the whole, has pretty much jumped the shark, so be sure to diversify. There's nothing wrong with using it as an aid, just don't confine yourself to that style only.
