So, some of you may have already been aware that a live-action movie is in the works for the Avatar series.
A lot of people are excited about this, including me.
However, after looking at some of the cast pictures for the movie, I'm beginning to have my doubts.

Seriously. How in the blue FUGGERNUTS can you cast a blue-eyed, blonde Caucasian as Katara?
Most honky casting ever.

I always thought the characters were like alaskan or native american with the fire benders being somewhat japanese.

That's the thing.
While watching the show, you'd realise that each of the tribes in Avatar are based on a particular Asian race:
Fire Nation: Japanese
Earth Kingdom: Chinese
Water Tribe: Indian/Mongolian
Air Nomads: Tibetian
So, again. How can you cast a bunch of Caucasians in roles dominated by Asian demographics?

It was a show on Nickelodeon after all, even if it was incredible. So we can't put that kinda thing past them. They probably had to please some sort of executive somewhere.

YESSSSSSSSSSS I thought so too!!! BUt NOOOOOOOOO dey just want ppl chirren to get role and build dey acting resume like crazy and not giving ppl quality movies that are the closest rep of the originals, dey like friggin EA. Ah mean yuh think yuh could get some indian or some alaskan actors ohhh gosh man!!
