Title: Official Awesome Movies Thread
Post by: rassmatic on August 24, 2012, 11:50:43 PM
OK, so I made another thread. This one's for posting ANY English speaking movie that you've seen at any point in the past and are willing to share.

I'll start with 3 awesome films I saw from last year....

Take Shelter (2011)

ALL these films were amazing. It would be a disservice to have them pass you by.

lol @ plug.

Take Shelter was real mad. The twist at the end was cool too.

The titular score from Requiem for a Dream remains one of my favourites to this day with its runaway hit Lux Aeterna.

Heard in many a movie trailer.

Yes I did. Not my kind of show tbh

Saw more of Marlon Wayans than I cared too.....what has been seen can never be unseen lol

Didn't too like Keith David in that "seedy" man role either.

Here is my contribution of three officially awesome movies:

although i didn't like Keith David's role and seeing all of Marlon Wayans, i still consider Requiem one of the best American cinema has to offer. everyone's tastes differs i guess. only saw District 9, which was bess. i would have quicker put Yamato in the "Gems" thread as this one's more for english speaking films.

Yeah, I know I was stretching it with that Yamato post, lol

As for Requiem, it was basically a "say no to drugs" movie.  Very predictable in that sense.

Now for a film of that genre that I'd rate.....look no further than Limitless.

That was a firm 9 little white pills out of 10 flick right there.

I dare say it deserves mention in this illustrious thread as an Officially Awesome Movie.

I watched this movie more than 10 times and you know what I feel like watching it again.
This, IMHO, is a very underrated movie.
It has a huge cast, great dialogue and awesome editing & cinematography.
Even though it was made in 1999 it is worth a look... especially in 1080p with some good surround sound!

Really can't recall if I ever watched Any Given Sunday. Looks familiar, but I've seen so many films it looks like I've forgotten some. Will check it out when I have the chance.

Snatch was a great film. Enjoyed it a lot. Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels didn't draw me in as I thought it would have. Maybe I was sleepy when watching it. Will give it a second viewing someday.
