Title: Planetside 2
Post by: TriniLink on November 24, 2012, 07:32:03 PM
I figured this might get lost in the steam and MMO clutter, so here's the games straightforward.

Planetside 2 starter guide :http://www.ign.com/wikis/planetside-2/Starter_Guide
Website: http://www.planetside2.com/

As the guide said, they drop you into the heat of a battle, so cover is needed pronto! Unfortunate for me i got picked off by a lvl 2 sniper from IDK where..   :violent5: :ko:

Free to play fellas and brederin' go see for yourself! also available on steam.

Thanks for the note Arc, edited to suit

Firefall: http://www.firefallthegame.com/ Another one on the watch scope, so far as of this posting only founders pack and beta access is given, still the game looks awesome to play. Will be free to play once full client is launched, just pray for it to not be region locked..

It's not.... http://www.carigamers.com/cms/forums/index.php/topic,20254.0.html

Its pretty friggin complex. I've been watching streams with clans almost 100 people strong to win a match. Need vent, need coordination. I think men will enjoy this if they can muster the numbers.

Tried it out briefly last night...after some crashing shenanigans.  Apparently, it will not run if you have USB controllers plugged in.
Not sure what game engine is in use here, but it certainly gave my rig a swift kick in the teeth...after it sank to it's knees from the
first kick in the nuts.  :laughing7:   Yeah...you're gonna want to play this one on 'medium'.

What struck me first was the SIZE.  :awesome:  The map I was dropped into easily puts every other shooter. To. Shame.
Bases are gargantuan in size...and the DISTANCES between bases...good lord.  Coordination and communication are actually
more important than shooting people.  Lone-wolfing, will get you nothing but a full clip to the chest.

I will admit...it's a bit overwhelming.  Just the tutorial page (http://www.planetside2.com/game-tutorials) will take about a few days to properly get through.

One big note, weather you have a low end rig or high end, do yourself a favor and set a graphics preset to this game ALONE. Once you get a settings to run how you feel comfortable, set it and get with the team. We got a continent to claim in de name of your faction :icon_pirat: GATT has seized a base!!! *W00t!* Gets sniped, while a ship afterwards kamikazes into the sniper* BOOM! :violent5:
