Title: Its (going to be) a 4k world
Post by: Spazosaurus on April 13, 2013, 02:45:53 PM
4k is going to be the next big thing imo. Despite the fact that 90% of the content we currently consume on a daily basis is not even as high quality as "lowly" 1080p, people still run it down. "1080p displays or nothing says most"

Of course, the notable exceptions are those people like me that use TV's as their primary PC display.

Technology marches on, however and once again most of us will rush for tech that we cant even appreciate...its like looking at a 5 year old boy running down a lingerie model.

But here we go...a new player in the market previously unheard of.

That's right, folks. 50 inches of 4k goodness for just $1400us!!! Un-friggin believable.

And I thought Sony's 55" @ $5500us was a steal of a deal!

wow

At that price, it is a no brainer

Marry that with 3D and it will be on many a wish list time Christmas 2013

1080p is more than sufficient for the vast majority out there. Only exception is graphics people and hard core PC gamers, the latter of which are very few and far between. I don't even consider myself to be a hardcore gamer.

1080 is definitely more than enough for me.

I watch most of my media at 720

Even on the big screen and have zero qualms. 1080p media is flawless as is.

Was by prowl weekend gone and saw his setup. Man running 3D in his living room and it rivals Movietowne. Amazing fidelity.

Absolutely flawless image. You can't see a single pixel.

That's 1080p for you.

Unless you're going to buy a 70 - 100" screen, I don't think 4K is going to bring any real perceivable benefits to the table for living room.
