UPDATE: At the WB/Legendary panel, Zack Snyder took the stage to announce the project. He then handed the microphone over to Harry Lennix (General Swanwick from Man of Steel), who recited the following quote from the comic book “The Dark Knight Returns“:
“I want you to remember Clark, in all the years to come. In all your private moments. In all the years to come, my hand at your throat. I want you to remember, the one man who beat you.”

I don't like it because it's funny, W1nTry. You weren't supposed to be 'impressed'. That's the whole point. :(
The author's point was to demonstrate that in the grand scheme of things...this 'news' is absolutely inconsequential,
and yet people took to Twitter like a swarm of wasps and focused their angst in the wrong direction.
I'm still waiting for the storm of Twitter protest for the aforementioned (suspected) gas attack.

I saw someone recommend Jaime Alexander (Lady Sif; Thor) and Gina Carano but I'm actually thinking Xena...

I think Lucy Lawless could embody Wonder Woman (or maybe she's too old now, idk).
Damn... Bryan Cranston, or even Arnold Vosloo would have made a KILLER Lex Luthor though.
Last week Warners shocked the world when they announced that Queens native Jesse Eisenberg bagged the role of Lex Luthor in the upcoming Batman Vs Superman.
I’m not gonna lie, at first I was on the side of fandom that was against Eisenberg and bitched like everyone else. But guess what?
I was wrong. Big time.
On one hand, like many of you, I had preconceived notions of what the character SHOULD BE that was pretty much based on conditioning of watching DC animated cartoons for too many years.
On the other hand, what Lex Luthor is GOING TO BE in Batman Vs Superman is pretty damn cool. More of that in a bit.
There have been some theories of what Lex is going to represent in the upcoming film. My wonderful colleague Drew McWeeney wrote a good piece over at HitFix that you guys should check out as a prerequisite before reading what we have to say. Just this morning Hollywood Reporter dropped a piece that was more inside baseball that didn’t really offer any info new info.
So, just who exactly is ALEXANDER “LEX” LUTHOR?
Kellvin went all out, hit up sources, came up aces, and bagged DETAILS.
I am beyond satisfied with this. It has renewed my interest in Batman v Supes
"Dawn of Justice" eh...?

Priceless. :laughing7:

Lee, an artist who's drawn the Caped Crusader in Batman and All-Star Batman & Robin runs, takes a more critical look at the design of the Affleck costume and likes what he sees. The cape offers "a very low drag coefficient," he says matter-of-factly, and up close the masked cowl has a faux leather effect and is not rife with ridges and sharp edges like other movie costumes.
Plus, he adds, "it's got this boxer's physique to it, which suggests that Batman's more of a brawler than he's been before."
A bat-chin in the finest WB tradition.

No! Director Zack Snyder then took the stage. He said he was shooting the film last night, teasing the crowd as that he didn’t really have much to show yet. Well, except for this little thing. A little teaser…
It starts with thunder and rain, as a hand pulls a tarp off of something… it’s Ben Affleck’s Batman on a Gotham City rooftop, and he’s in the full bat-armor from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. His eyes are glowing white, and we see that what he’s pulled that tarp off of is the bat-signal. He turns the signal on and the famed bat symbol fills the sky… but then we see it’s aimed at something. At a man floating in the sky. A super-man! Cut to a close-up of Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel as his eyes start to glow with heat vision. Cut back to Batman whose eyes are still glowing white. It’s the stare down of all stare downs! Cut to the title screen: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The crowd of course went wild, but even more so when Snyder then brought Affleck, Cavill, and even “our Wonder Woman” Gal Gadot. No questions or discussion -- just the four of them standing together up there for our earliest look at the Big Three together.
Lol @ invisible jet. :laughing7:
Looks 'OK' I guess. Needs a lil bit more color.

And drumroll...... Bruce would be in his mid 40's, so basically Affleck is playing is own age (42). This makes a lot of sense since they're going for a more seasoned crime fighter. Also think of the possibilities, this surely has to mean the Bat family (or part of it) is already set up and fully operational :D

The main downside for choosing to go with an older batman is obviously how long would they be able to maintain this universe without reboot or recasting. I mean, could you imagine a solo batman film in 2022 with a 50 year old affleck looking like stallone (not saying he will look that bad, but people age yuh knw)? And unlike downey, who can be an old iron man, this is a physically taxing role. Wonder how long affleck will be able to keep up.
Other than that, I am very pumped that they did choose this route. No origin story, just a well established, seasoned batman ready to kick ass.
You can hold me to this but from what i've seen from the trailer braniac is going to be introduced as zod.
