Title: My Web Source misadventure
Post by: Qloxx on April 18, 2014, 10:00:10 AM
So I've been with web source for about 3 years and while they have had some problems this is the straw that broke the camels back. I pre ordered my infamous second son collectors edition the day it was available and when i got it this is what i saw when i opened the box.
Luckly the driver was still outside so i talked to him went through the procedure and was finaly told that it was because amazon did not package it properly it's their fault and i should contact them, well web source can KISS MY @SS untill they find chocolate because that is $#!t.
What would you do in this situation I'm severing all ties and looking for a new company but lets hear your views.
Not getting to upload any pics but the box was crushed there were faint tire tracs on the amazon box and the game case was crushed.

I made a post about websource already about a similar situation, I ordered fishing rods and noticed upon collection that the top of the packaging was completely bend, opened the box and my rod was shattered, was told by the supervisor that it is amazons fault and they would not take responsibility. They have no regard for the safety of their customer's packages.
I only order certain hard to break items with websource now.

Ezone ftw.

Never received any broken packages from them in the 10 years I've been with them.

Thanks man but Arc i was with ezone but they was killing me with their duties, having to pay 120 up for a game is hard when i buy so many. Not sure if their price normalized one good thing about web source was 35 to clear a game or blu ray.

damn i pay 150 to clear a game the last time then went back to buying them locally, am with aeropost. how is caribox with reliability and price

I buy 95% of my games digitally now. Zero shipping and duty.

Bessgen ftw

I would say CariBox has the best price but it is only available to GATT members.

Others who have used it could compare the price to websource and ezone. I haven't used those in recent times to say for sure.

You could pm me an invoice from a past order and I can do the same to compare

Yeah Ezone real disgusting with they prices but damn they fast and efficient as hell. Only bring very important stuff with them and web source for the rest. Never had a problem with either. Give caribox a try and see...

I'll have to give Caribox a try as A low cost alternative to Ezone.

Is not always I want to pay $80 minimum of a single item

Was with aeropost also but when they started with the overcharging i left. I buy a lot of games for myself and for orders so upwards of $80 just dosent make sense for me

I've been using CSF for the past 2 years with no major issues and their prices are reasonable (no 80.00 minimum fee here).

They had some logistics issues last Christmas, but they've addressed these.

Might be worth your while to check them out.

wow, how did that $80 minimum work?

Could you explain further?

Ezone charges a 'minimum' freight charge of 12 US for any package that is less than 5 lbs.

For packages 5 lbs and over, a freight charge of 3 US/lb applies.

Then there's 'insurance', and duty/VAT, if applicable.

That is really expensive for small packages

CSF is my new shipping. Have been for about 9 months now. Websource was great at first, but as they got more popular they started to go the way of the generic big business model. Ridiculous rise in prices. I've never had THAT sort of issue though. The problem could have been with the shipping company that shipped your game TO the websource warehouse. Unless you use Amazon Prime (like me), you're honestly subjected to THE WORST of the worst shipping companies around, & low budget shipping methods. People like USPS...who totally destroy your stuff. Like I've got a friend in the states who works there & they literally sit on your packages & play cards, toss it around & drop it a whole lot...it's crazy. Now, if you DID happen to be using Prime, there's another company you should look out for. Fedex & UPS are solid, but there's a company called Lasership that does Prime shipping for amazon as well & I don't know why because they're basically exactly like USPS. The last time my games were messed up, I filed a complaint & without even having to send amazon screenshots, they sent me the messed up game, a free game of my choice, paid for shipping, & labelled the package as something dog-cheap so that the clearing price was beyond ridiculously cheap. I know you feel helpless cuz amazon is far away,  but you'd be surprised the kinda power you have while still behind a screen. I'd still file that complaint if I were you, but websource seems fishy here as well. In the event that your things reach websource in a damaged state, it's not suppose to reach you at all. It's suppose to be sent right back to amazon without you doing anything. So that's a little strange.

I too can vouch for CSF Couriers. Rates are pretty good, packages are delivered on time and both delivery ppl and in-office workers are really pleasant (not very important to most, but something that might sway others). Right now I have about 4 skyboxes and CSF  (along-side Caribox) is the best.

aeropost charges kinda insane in truth. bringing in hard copy games is a little too expensive.

I give up on aeropost, good service but prices are too high. Seems be the trend with many of these companies, grab a bunch of customers with low prices and then raise prices until unbearable.

I have been with Websource for about 3 years myself.  At first everything was good, but for the last year or so I have noticed that they are charging me customs duty and vat on almost all my items, and sometimes quite large sums.  I contacted customs and was advised that not all packages are checked by them.  They do random checking, so why is Websource charging me all the time.  I do not  mind if they charge a small sum sometimes ( and if they do this for everyone, they will make a lot of profit), but this is ridiculous.  I left CSF couriers for the same thing, they were calculating Customs duty and vat on every single item and could not show me the customs receipt.  They are supposed to give you a copy of the customs receipt.  What a big ripoff.  If anyone knows a good courier service that is not trying to dig out my eyes, please let me know.  I am done with Websource.

Anyone ever use Transexpress? their rates are low if they charge you at all. Never gotten any real problems with them at all. Signup is free.

I contacted customs and was advised that not all packages are checked by them.

Ashley is quite right. Sometimes i pay absolutely $0.00 on items that should be taxable on many occasions with trans-express.

Transexpress is represented by a local company called Trinebox.

You can sign up here: www.trinebox.com

They have been a long time sponsor of GATT so definitely support them if you can.

Main office is in Woodbrook but they have one in south as well.
