If you had to sit down with a gamer -a friend or competitor- what would you ask them?
besides the usual who what when where how of course I am sure you might have some things that you might like to ask people.
Like say Baego why do you still play videogames?
Or Laruto what makes you think Zelda is such a good game?

As of today I will be relinquishing my duties as an administrator of GATT. As most would have known I am currently developing -along with a few other associates SHiZZiES-which will aim to support local gaming on a number of fronts.
I do this by no means in spite of anyone but rather simply to pursue some of my own dreams, aspirations and visions which may or may not run concurrently with GATT culture. I believe that Baego now back at the helm, GATT is in capable hands and I wish the organisation its very best. I have been a part of GATT for the better part of 5 years and it has been a fantastic ride.
As a gamer I am sure that we will cross paths since I seek the interest of the local gaming community first, I always have and always will be. It may be confusing to some or my departure may be misinterpreted as something else but sometimes you simply need to do things on your own to move on ahead.
To the future of the gaming community. Good luck everyone and see you at a lan party/tournament somewhere in the future.
Shizzumaru signing off.

Well this is a few days old but for those who dont know Zack Snyder who directed 300 will be directing a very big big movie "The Watchmen", The most critically acclaimed comic books of all time. In between an extended trailer for 300 there was a scene at either 1:52 or 1:25 look for the image of rosharc one of the main characters in watchmen. for comparison this is the comic shot. - check the trailer at aint it cool news link below: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/31814Read more about "The Watchmen" here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watchmen

Now for those of you who have been around the comic industry Might know a little about Frank Miller. I remember (before my collection was stolen that I collected this mini series from him, Ronin from DC comics. Well riding on successes so far from Sin City and 300 guess whats his next project is? Yep RONIN. This one could be pretty amazing if it is done well. I found a little bit of details from. The Movie Blog's Site.Ronin is the story of a dishonored 13th century samurai existing in an apocalyptic New York packed with mutants, cannibals, and a reincarnated demon while on a quest for redemption. The story has a little bit of everything; Miller himself has described it as "a superhero, science fiction, samurai drama, urban nightmare, gothic romance. -- from The movie blog. The producer for 300 (Gianni Nunnari) is the one pulling things together, and it appears he's already selected a director... Sylvian White... the guy who directed Stomp the Yard. REALLY??? Ummm... ok... why not. I guess if Del Toro can go from doing Blade 2 and Hellboy to Pan's Labyrinth then I suppose Nunnari can go from Stomp the Yard to Ronin. Just seems a little odd. But stranger things have happened. I'll be curious to see how this one works out.

Now before I start its not an attempt to overdramatise anything about racism and the implications of it. I am more interested if anyone here in particular had some similar thoughts as I had about the movie when I saw it.
For those who have not seen the show a few spoilers may be found below.
I thought 300 was a pretty good show I enjoyed it a lot but when you look at some scenes in particular like the beheading of the the failed persian generals (which was a black guy) whose head was cut off spinning in the air on a large cinema screen, whilst again the black messenger kicked in a hole from the white spartan.
People overlty cheered over these scenes (maybe more for the graphic displays presented) but part of me took a few to think of what I was looking at. At times it may be a bit of over thought, but are we also too lapsed to think as well that for most cultures sometimes we aren't seeing Beautiful or respectful images of ourselves/the,selves on the screen (or the box as I like to call it - TVs, Computer screens, Posters, Billboards etc etc etc).
I could maybe write some more but I'm not that great at presenting my thoughts sometimes but I would appreciate interesting conversation on this point.

As the topic states should GATT open the doors for donations to aid in development of local gaming with respects to tournaments and administrative duties needed to manage what we do year to year?
Let us hear what your opinions for and against all are required to form an idea of what is needed.

Hey everyone as a result of the last meeting. See here http://gatt.carigamers.com/index.php/topic,10203.0.html There are a few things that GATT will be looking towards doing. Basically there are a few key things that us as a whole need to work on and it will take all of you (the membership) to help us achieve this. At the moment we are looking at Coca Cola getting involved in some of our projects, details as to the level of involvement will come as admin have more detailed information to give. This is expected to hopefully play a major role in the things listed below. Failing these we are still going to do whatever we can to: 1. Increase the amount of tournaments and events that Local gaming produces. 1. Promote healthy communication and competition between all local gaming organisations and Gaming Locations (GLS) 1. Constantly develop our subculture and enjoyment for this pastime/hobby/skill of our that we collectively call gaming at one time or another. A rough schedule of things to come are: Dota tournament - March 18th Java gaming cafe Console - Tournament (Tekken) - April (GATT) SHiZZiES tournament online - April Online VGA HALO 4v4 MAY first 2 weeks GATT COD 5v5 MAY last 2 weeks Console 3rd strike Street Fighter MAY GATTOther unconfirmed TournamentsCounter Strike - Java Gears of War – VGA Soldiers of Fortune – GATT Company of Heroes – VGA

As most would have probably known by now, Baego has returned to the admin team of GATT. To make sure we have a transition point, there will be a debriefing meeting Monday afternoon from 5pm at Techsource cafe.
From there we will continue with the matters of local gamers at hand.
Thanks everyone.

Started off as a fun light matter (though technically it still is in essence) but then eventually got formed through repetitive evenings and nights playing dota together among other things the group of friends have decided to officially form a clan to give gravity to what we do. Playing on the Gosu server set up by TG (trinigamers) someone called us the Sensei's vent squad, the person being none other than xen spartan, apparantly being annoyed by having repetitively played against a full team of our members together (most of the time of which he lost against us unfortunately). We then decied to give us a a clan from that said event. We play/communicate/chat daily on the vent server hosted by none other than sensei himself, put up for the SHiZZiES website. The vent server is open to all GATT members and gamers everywhere locally. ip = sonic.typefrag.com and port = 22531 no password Set up a game vs us sometime or simply come and hang around, maybe you may want to get an SVS next to your name some day. As it stands the official team consists of [SVS] Sensei (clan leader) [SVS] SHiZZ [SVS] Chronos (official winerboy) [SVS] X-calibur [SVS] Negrodamus/grasshoppa [SVS] Analprobe - DEST [SVS] Perfek [SVS] Rommel/Flagship [SVS] FLiNT [SVS] NEMESIS [SVS] Razazzi - badboyb [SVS] heady ( yes he in the clan he just eh know yet lol) [SVS] Crixxtachi (same as heady lol ) and other members to come. Essentially Outsiders will be merged into this clan We are primarily an online guild. To be a member proper vent access is a must for co - ordination and co operation. Enjoy

Season's greeting to all GATT member and here's to a bright new year for you and yours.
I am here speaking on behalf of the new administration team for The Gamers Association of Trinidad and Tobago or what we have all come to know now as GATT.
Since its inception GATT has always had some very simple objectives, to be a place for local gamers to interact, communicate and play together. As things have changed and are changing these are the same values that any local gamer will still appreciate and it is our hope to keep those same values alive as we look forward to strengthening our bonds and developing positive movements in this culture of ours.
As it stands the team comprises of Crixx, Heady and myself SHiZZ. We alone will not be able to do what is necessary for the organisation, to accomplish that we will need the help of everyone involved and we will be looking forward to your continued assistance and support. There are a few things that we have spoke about doing and are planning for GATT, including our own tournaments and improved inter GL communication.
Thanks for your time and hope to see many of you all within the New Year.
