Ole Talk / Who is your F1 2012 team?
« on: February 01, 2012, 10:12:34 PM »
Well the new F1 2012 cars are starting to be unveiled, so, have many of you think Red Bull is gonna take the titles again this year? There are not many aero changes to the body work of the cars this year, more refinements, this could give some of the other teams a chance to catch up to the RB7 chassis of last year.

I want to see how the teams cope without the rear blown diffuser for added rear down-force. Another thing i am interested in is ferrari's decision to use the older pull-rod suspension design to the push-rod designs that work so well, maybe they want to lower the center of gravity of the car a bit, who knows, these teams are so resourceful.

My team has always been and always will be McLaren, since the days of Senna. So, which team will you be backing this year.

Sorry guys i did not do a full benchmark cause my graphics card right now embarrassing when i get my 6870 i will do another for now here is the specs I am running and the CPU score for Vantage:

CPU: 4.3ghz

CPU-NB: 2.8ghz

RAM: 1600mhz 1T

Trading Grounds / F.S. MSI n250GTS oc edition.
« on: February 25, 2011, 03:39:49 PM »
Whats up fellas i'm looking to sell my 250gts, here is some of the specs on it:

MODEL: MSI N250GTS 1gb Overclock Edition (gpu: 760mhz, shader: 1836mhz, memory: 1150mhz)

Overclocking Capability (using After Burner): (gpu: 810mhz, shader: 1950mhz, memory: 1170mhz)

What all those numbers essentially equal to are on average an increase of about 5 FPS. The card can be overclocked abit more i.e. the specs in my signature but u get a small amount of artifacts and snow but it is hardly noticeable.

I have had the card for about a year now and i am looking to upgrade, the card runs games pretty well:

Crysis Warhead @ 1920x1080 no AA, Mixture of Mainstream and Gamer graphics settings and it runs at 35-40fps

F1 2010: 1920x1080 all graphics on ultra (DX10) about the same frame rate as crysis.

I am looking for around $700 for it paid $1300 for it.

Ole Talk / If money was no object...what car would you have?
« on: February 22, 2011, 03:13:55 PM »
Ite fellas i'm changing the pace here a bit...enough bout pc parts and what giving trouble and what not...right now this a day dream thread, so as the title states...If money was no object what car would you be driving around in?

Please respect every choice put up here and doh flame ppl cause they put up a "crappy ride" feel free to put up even the most ridiculous to the most boring.

Since i started it i will go first, the car i would choose would have to be the....

Ariel Atom 500

No abs, or tcs or ebd or any of those driving aids for babies...to me cars just feel better without these constricting little things...and as for no roof, i don't mind i currently ride a gsx-r600 and i get wet in the rain all the time it's quite fun if you try it.

Here is a clip of the car on top gear

Trading Grounds / How much would my chip go for if i wanted to sell it?
« on: February 19, 2011, 11:38:48 PM »
Ite fellas please don't flame me here its just a general question i am posting here.

But as the title states what do you all think someone would pay for my so called "golden or cherry picked cpu"

More details are in my signature(cpu-z links), most of the people on overclock.net said that i got a definite golden chip here, as a locked 555 cpu it gets to 4.5ghz and is the 16th fastest in the world on air (last i checked) so if someone were to spray water on this think i'm sure it would rocket even more.

And as a B55 quad it gets a respectable 4.2ghz again with better cooling and more volts who knows where this can go to.

So? how much do you all think its worth...and please don't say a dellar or a bob...realistic here

Hardware, Tweaking & Networking / Where to get a good monitor???
« on: February 17, 2011, 02:23:05 PM »
Fellas ah fighting down getting rid of my trusty 20inch AOC monitor but these days like it sick...the backlight is flickering ever so often and then bam...it will cut off, now it still getting a signal the power led is still blue (orange is for no signal)...when i use the light from my fone and put it close to the screen i can still see the icons so i know is a.............Gdamnit...it just cut off again...as i was saying i still see the icons so i know is a backlight problem...anywhere you all know ppl who can fix this or should i just buy a new monitor

And talking about a new monitor where can i get a good HD res monitor (1920x1080) with a nice warranty so things like this will not happen again.

Power Supplies / How about this for a new PSU?
« on: February 15, 2011, 05:54:48 PM »
Woi fellas i am going to upgrade my piece of shixx psu for a new one...been looking around and this Kingwin caught my eye

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5222602

I read the reviews on it and it is a unanimous decision everyone thinks it is a really good psu but the main thing that got my eye was the share amount of amps this thing clocks out something like 100+ when u add up all 6 rails...what do you all think, or should i go with the mainstream brands like thermaltake and corsair and silverstone?

Processors / Slowing my overclock...good settings here?
« on: February 15, 2011, 11:21:44 AM »
Ite fellas after a while of having my chip at 4.5ghz i see no merit (atleast for now) for having it so high. Last night i started backing it down and this is what i got so far...tell me what you all think, are there any bottlenecks as for as you all can tell?

CPU: 4ghz (stock volts) (28c idle, 38c load with occt linpack)

CPU-NB: 2600mhz (stock volts) [2800mhz possible but with 1.4v]

RAM: 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 1T (stock volts)

GFX Card: gpu-830, shader-1950, mem-1190

Should i run the NB at 2800mhz or that would not make a difference?

I am a mclaren mercedes man evar since i saw senna driving for them back in 93 or 94 sum time like that...saw how that man drove and although I was only 5 or 6 is was like WAYYY...real bad.

I like the new side pods on the car the whole 'U shape' design as they call it really unusual. Plus they have the baddest driver in my mind right now...hamilton

So who is your side for F1 2011.

And i hope i doh see anyone putting here "meh f1 i rather going sideways or drags" or sum shixx like that F1 thread stick to it.

Graphics Cards / Upgrading to a gtx 460 for crysis 2...make sense?
« on: February 06, 2011, 11:23:17 AM »
Well fellas just as the title states i've been waiting on crysis 2 for a long time and it will be out later this year and i am thinking about a small upgrade....what graphics cards would you all recommend so i can play crysis 2 in full HD goodness with full AA and all the other goodies.

Been looking at the msi version of the 460 mainly because the current 250gts i have works so well and can overclock really well...plus the twin frozr cooler just looks badass, or should i wait till closer to the game release and see what other cards come out and what price drops take place?

Processors / AMD Bulldozer
« on: January 15, 2011, 09:03:57 PM »
Well since intel released the sandy bridge (crappy name to me for a architecture :P) I not hearing anyone including AMD saying or talking about the upcoming architecture that suppose to revolutionize the chip market aka Bulldozer (much better name :D). So as the title states what are your expectations for the new architecture.

For me I hope they make serious improvements to:

1. Performance - Get close to the i7 2600k
2. Price - Be sub $300US to give intel a run here too
3. Have serious overclocking overhead or at least high out of the box clocks
4. Be sub 100watt or even 80watt in power consumption

These are just a few things that i hope that bulldozer will bring to the table later on this year...so what about you all?

I am buying this fan controller from a partner and it will be going into my cooler master 690...my main question is where are the best places to put the temp sensors so i can really see what is going on inside my case...i have system specs in my signature...also is it a good controller, has anyone here used one before?
