OK guys, here's how I made it come together: 1st off, you NEED TSTT's resedential broadband package (128k down/64k up). When the account is active you neeed to e-mail em and ask that their free 'firewall' be deactivated. Since the broadband adapter that they supply can only be used with a PC, it goes without saying that you also need a PC to get online with the PS2. Connection between the PS2 and the PC is achieved via a CROSS-cable (if you dont have a hub). Simply connect the PS2 Network Adapter to the PC's network card.
Connect to the internet and THEN turn on the PS2 and create a DSL connection using automatic settings. After that your're ready. Just start up SOCOM 2 and choose the 'Online' option (obviously). You will have to go through some profile creation stuff and then you're THERE MAN!!!!
SPECIAL NOTE!!!: You MUST be using an ORIGINAL SOCOM 2 disc, preferrably in an UNMODDED PS2. Sony has this security protocol called DNAS (Dynamic Network Authentication System) which scans your PS2 to see if you have a mod-chip or Gameshark or Action Replay. If you do have a modded PS2 and the mod-chip is the Magic 3.1, you can TURN-OFF the mod-chip by pressing and HOLDING the reset button until you see the 'Sony Computer Entertainment' come up on screen, but you still must have an original disc. I have the Magic 3.1 and have gotten online with Need for Speed Underground as well.
WHEW!!!! If anybody needs any other info, hit me up at jeremeyev@msn.com.
