Ensure you're getting decent latency 60 - 80ms should be fine, and bandwidth near your package speed. Around 15mb down and 2mb up for the 15mb package
Note, the greater your bandwidth, the less likely you will achieve the maximum speed during peak times (6PM - Midnight) when testing to foreign servers.
If all results look reasonable, any poor in game performance you are experiencing could be related to issues beyond your internet connection. Examples like server lag due to cpu overload, distance (maybe located in US West), windows updates or other downloads running incognito on your PC or competition for bandwidth from other users in your household if you share your internet. One person on youtube or netflix can devastate your ping if you do not have QoS properly configured on your home router.
Be mindful, Flow has little control if you're playing on a foreign server. A thousand factors come into play as listed above.
As is the annual tradition around this time of year....we take our pens to papers (or fingers to keyboard) to scribe that wish list of items for Santa to deliver on December 25th
By now, at least one if not two nexgen gaming systems should have made it under your tree. This season you could snag a third and achieve Hybrid Master Race final form. Or maybe mobile will light up your life with a number of new devices hitting the market in time for Mr. Claus.
Already a proud owner of the Nexus 5, I could hardly wait to get these grubby paws on the latest iteration of the Google flagship. Improved camera, better battery life and a finger print sensor round out an already impressive package, for cheap. Pure android to the world.
Slated for release in Jan 2016, this one is sure to miss the boat / sleigh. Still, it remains firmly on my wish list for 2015. So strong is the desire for this second generation, fitness focused smart watch. One of the few on the market that allows you to ditch your phone and go for a run with its on board GPS.
Today we have the privilege of testing the Flow Gigabit Fibre internet service at our very own headquarters.
First up, we test the raw bandwidth available through the connection using the venerable speedtest website.
The server location is Flow's very own NOC, located in Trinidad.
The speeds are off the charts. Fastest we have ever seen in the country.
But a lot of us game on servers located outside of the twin island republic. So next, a second test is performed using a server in the United States.
Understandably, the numbers aren't as fast as domestic traffic but still faster than any international speed test to date. Especially the upload. This will be fantastic for hosting game servers as well as doing casting and streaming of local content to an international audience.
The ping time was also impressive. Coming in at 52ms
Moving on, a real world test of downloading a game from STEAM.
The connection was able to achieve up to 30MB/s throughput. The 2GB game completed in two minutes.
Fast download speed isn't everything though. Equally important is jitter. Having a stable ping makes for a better gaming experience.
Our go to game for evaluating ping is DOTA 2.
US East is the closest server location provided by Valve. Ping times to it are seen below:
During actual game play the ping hovered around 104ms, remaining relatively stable with very little jitter.
Under stress (streaming two videos in the background and a 4K stream) the ping increased to 133ms. Still playable but pings of 100 and below are desirable.
Summary: Personally, I was not even aware these sort of speeds were possible. Flow Gigabit is the fastest internet we have ever tested, bar none.
Very exciting times ahead for gamers. It looks like fibre is about to change the game for good. This sort of bandwidth opens a lot of possibilities.
Be civil, mannered players. No intentional feeding Communicate and work with your team mates Maintain a decent standard of play No overly negative attitudes No surrender spamming. No game leaving.

Get ready to meet your favorite heroes (and villains) bigger and badder than before.
Presenting Heroes of the Storm.
This is not your grand mother's moba.....they have managed to turn the battle arena on top of its head by removing common gameplay mechanics and simplifying pretty much everything. Stripping away a lot of the hard core and leaving a pretty pure, almost infantile experience. Almost.
The deceptively simple game has replaced that complexity with accessibility. Allowing less experienced players to jump in and contribute with ease.
Instead of one static arena, they have several diverse maps in rotation. Each with different dynamic elements and a radical appearance. Doing away firmly with the standard three corridor formula.
Team play is crucial at higher levels. This becomes the case very quickly because the typical game is over in 20 minutes. Levelling up is brisk. Very short as far as mobas go. You do not require a PhD to have blast, nor dedicate a lot of time to enjoy the blizzard polish here.
Last but not least, the game is FREE (and a relatively small download at just 4gb)
Jump on battle.net, download the game and jump in the suhuweat!!!! GATT members are usually on from 9PM - 11PM every night.
