Quote
The yet-to-be-announced follow-up to 2011's Batman: Arkham City will be a prequel based on the Silver Age of DC's comic books from the 1950s during which the titular hero teamed up with the likes of Superman and founded the Justice League of America, Variety reports.

According to the publication, the Rocksteady Studios title will revolve around Batman's first meeting with the Joker.

First two games were beyond brilliant. With the new origin story being touted for Batman, and the re release of the comics, this may mesh nicely.

News / The Rise of Costs, the Fall of Gaming

Very good read.

The kind of resources, being put into some games, for diminishing returns, is quite staggering oui. This Blockbuster model for gaming appears to be one of the scenarios that is killing the industry.

As I am writing this article, Activision is shutting down Radical Entertainment,  Sega is laying off staff from their UK and U.S. offices, Vivendi wants to sell its majority 61% stake in Activision Blizzard worth $8.1bn and THQ is on life support.  Over 120 developer studios have been shut down between the beginning of this generation (end of 2005/beginning of 2006)  and the end of this generation (currently).  If you continue to let budgets and team sizes spiral out of control, the future of gaming will be grim.  There is a quote above that says:  “ Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent.  It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage – to move in the opposite direction.“   I believe this quote sums up why Nintendo’s strategy will prove to be more successful than other companies in the long run.  Even with Nintendo’s least successful consoles such as GameCube and Nintendo 64, not only did they earn a profit, but they stuck by those consoles an entire generation to stay loyal to their fanbase.

News / Capcom Overworks Ono, Says Famous Street Fighter Producer
« on: June 13, 2012, 08:35:16 AM »

the stink is strong with capcom yes.

Quote
Yoshinori Ono is another developer who decided to speak up about working conditions within the electronic entertainment software industry...specifically, working conditions at Capcom. In a lengthy interview with Eurogamer the producer tells writer Simon Parkin to use the headline "Capcom overworks Ono" because he says the company would sack him if he tried speaking up on the issues.

Just so readers have an idea of what this is all about, Yoshinori Ono is the famous producer who rose through the ranks of Capcom and eventually nursed Street Fighter back into the mainstream spotlight with Street Fighter 4. According to Ono, Capcom wanted nothing to do with Street Fighter after Third Strike because they didn't see it as a mainstream seller anymore and Ono says he received a lot of inter-office political opposition getting the game done and out there

Oui papa this show had some genuine scares. Been awhile since Ive really enjoyed a horror like this.

To be watched late at night, in the dark with headphones. Just don't expect to sleep after.

John L. Beiswenger, an American science fiction author, is suing Ubisoft over alleged similarities between his novel, Link, and the Assassin's Creed franchise.

Beiswenger's novel is based on the premise that ancestral memories can be "accessed, recalled, relived and re-experienced" by participants in a radical new scientific process. The suit lists a wide range of similarities, from narrative themes to specific use of individual words

General Gaming & System Wars / Crysis 3
« on: April 16, 2012, 10:49:57 AM »

Set in New York, Crysis 3 will once again cast you as Prophet, but all is not as it was. New York has been encased in a Nanodome that has seen it transform into a literal jungle rather than just an urban one. Swamplands, rivers and dense copses of overgrowth mean that Crysis 3 looks more like the original game in the series than its sequel.

cant lie tried the demo, and it kept and held my attention. I think if u like Blazblue, or the Guilty Gear series, you would love this.

Lots of content for a quarter the price of a full game.

The next PlayStation may not play well with pre-owned video games, according to a report from Kotaku , which writes that the successor to the PS3 may tie video games to a PlayStation Network account and require online activation to play. The next PlayStation, which one might assume could eventually be called the PlayStation 4, is currently codenamed "Orbis," according to the report.

So I suddenly not too interested in the PS4 if this is true.

just a tease.

Loved the first movie (as did the entire universe Id guess) but everything else afterwards sucked horrendously.

Hopefully this animated feature puts this on the right track.
