Lee and Gai's taijutsu selling point is that doesn't require that you mould chakra.

I suggest you to learn something together. Art, sculpture, weaving, tiling, self defense etc...

Take something you both appreciate and turn it into a supportive mutual growth process.

I just came in here to say that Bleach is awful.

What's that?

Yes. I know this is the Naruto thread.

But I...I can't bear to go into the Bleach thread.

There were once good memories in there.

oh gosh man, drop the act nah.
stop trying to over analyze everything.
All i am trying to say is that, the majority of people who feel like death penalty etc, is the only way, and that harsh punishments is the only way, is because they may have been directly or indirectly affected by some form of violent crime. People tend to feel harsh forms of punishment is the only form of justice.
All i am saying is, were you in the 'boots' of the people facing those scenarios, you would most likely feel the way they do.

My concern is that Justice should be the most important aspect of the whole argument.

So now it's an act? Nice.

Here's the simple version then: I am not a humanist. Some of my viewpoints may coincide but I am hardly a humanist even though I may not reject and sometimes even employ the label for the end goal of communication greater understanding. From my statement you have and had very little foundation on which to presume I'm a humanist. You directed your statement at me without justification and with the clear presumption that I did not know and could not empathize. I'm generally not surprised by your refusal to approach the issue critically and your claim that this is "over analysis". This is not your fault. It is called confirmation bias. It is the default nature of our minds. I do not exclude myself. However, you do not know me. You do not know my experience. You do not know how I "feel". I made no moral statement on the issue of the death penalty and there was none implied. You did direct a statement at me that does not logically follow from what I said. It ultimately -both- presumptuous and inapplicable because it is informed by specious reasoning. I am only interested in what is true, what is beneficial and what is effective. I believe that How one "feels" about the the truth is subordinate to the truth no matter which side of the argument one's worldview may fall. If you are incapable of believing that this is not an "act" then I suppose there's nothing worthwhile to communicate. This was my conclusive premise from the post you first quoted. But you have conceded and most likely will concede nothing. There is nothing else for me to say. I'm done.

Synchronomyst, you wife and daughter just got raped and killed in front your eyes, they chop off the head of yuh aging mother, and leave you tied to a tree in some remote forested area...

trust me, your "humanitarian" view will change. We not dealing with people in trinidad any more, is only ah set ah "beasts"...

Note: I'm not trying to be sardonic or condescending when I say this, but thank you. Thanks for the acute confirmation of the concerns in my previous post. You've made a complete assumption about my character that fits comfortably in your worldview although you have no basis on which to do so given the nature of my words. You've already polarized me because I don't agree with your viewpoint out of hand. Without knowledge of anything about me, you've created a scenario which would destroy my perceived 'humanitarianism' without taking the time to consider that I may, with our without this or a similar scenario (although I'm not confirming either way), actually have begrudging personal conflicts between what is empirically tested and what is instinctual of me. More importantly, you believe that if I were to experience exactly what you said and -my- personal "humanitarianism" was shattered that my or anyone's emotions would effectively invalidate what is true or false. I don't believe that this sort of reasoning is the most effective way of getting the answers that we need for anything and I believe it fails more often than it succeeds.

The only thing which really bothers me the most (but really now not at all) is the idea that you used 'humanitarian' as a pejorative.

You know...

...I was going to make one of my long debunking posts but let's be real here; most of you have already made up your minds about the issues because it's consistent with your general worldview. That can't be helped. We're humans and we're quite susceptible not only that, but to use passion as an impetus to reason. So, even if I did, I'm probably not actually going to cause anyone to contemplate anything as confirmation bias is probably going to rear it's invisible-but-oh-so-ugly head when there's a wealth of research out there that academia is busy masturbating to which anyone can access if they're even remotely interested in taking a greater than superficial look because, from the look of things, no one actually cares...which is the greater problem, isn't it? Few people genuinely care beyond the scope of their worldview.

same here i agree with crix. If business owners start packing, criminals will just execute you before you even have a chance to pull that gun you have under the counter.

Have you ever been to the bad areas of the BRONX in NY? Bullet proof glass is installed, customers have to talk to the person behind the counter through little holes. Merchandise and money is passed through a bullet proof box that opens on one side at a time. Perhaps that is the next step in customer service....

Training the police force not to accept bribes? Try paying them more so the bribe doesn't look so appealing, or making sure they are well educated and trained. Screen them before letting them join. Background checks on everyone applying to the police force, psychological tests and screening...It takes alot to implement. If they do that, then its a start. Otherwise we could talk till we blue in the face, nothing will change. It will only get worse..

i have lived in bk and bronx for a few years amongst other places. I know what its like.
And what you pointed out about the police
is where law enforcement needs to go
But gun ownership is not a deterrent to crime
it never was and never will be

the reason americans have guns is not cause the founding fathers saw it as a way to deter crime
it was to have the opportunity to fight an oppressive government or invading regime
it was an error in foresight to leave that shit in the constituition for the normies to get guns

The verdict is definitely still out on that.
