« on: June 20, 2011, 03:23:18 AM »
Hey GATT.

(If this is in the wrong thread, please forgive me, I'm tired.) :ko:

Tonight was the Corporate King of Kings Calypso competition. The winners of various in-house calypso competitions squared off on NAPA's stage tonight and a bonafide gamer, your boy Q came out on top. It was broadcast on Channel 4. I would've said something sooner but I was too nervous to think straight.

Never let it be said that all we do is "play game". We excel mostly at gaming because we give them a bligh at everything else.  :sassy:

Peace out, my fellow digital deities.

Ole Talk / Couple Stuff
« on: August 13, 2010, 01:13:54 AM »
Hey guys.

I need some ideas for some day-to-day activities that couples can do in this country.

The wifey and I are on vacation and we need something to do besides SuDoKu, Crosswords and making out. Although that's enough for me, she's big on sightseeing and going out. I tried the Know-Your-Country tours with PTSC but that's only on weekends and they've run out of brochures. We've been together for years and we have very quiet tastes (like any old married couple). Any ideas?

Thanx in advance.

Guys, if you haven't seen this, I HIGHLY recommend it. I lol'd so HARD. It's a grimey shoot-em-up animated flick. I think it was originally in Spanish but I got an English dubbed copy.

GO GET IT.

All I'll say is that Michael Jai White is a freakin' monster.

I loved it. Grimiest beat-em-up I've seen in a while.  :bother:

Media / The Proposal
« on: June 26, 2009, 11:29:09 PM »
I went with the wifey to see it today. The movie was cool but what REALLY did it for me was Sandra Bullock outta foil. :happy0203:
Deadpool was his usual, cheerful dumbass self and Betty White (Rose from Golden Girls, the stupid one) was a riot. :yay:
Lolz + A BLAZIN HOT, naked, pear-shaped Sandra Bullock = A romantic comedy I didn't regret checking out.  :hello:
*I think wide hips are sexy... So sue me.*  :awesome:

I give it a 4/5. I'm not really a romantic comedy guy but after "Run Fatboy, Run", the genre is growing on me.

The lady and I went to see this on Saturday and I loved it. It made me laugh and it was still very touching and serious. Not a bad directorial effort from David Schwimmer. Not bad at all.

Starring Simon Pegg (Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz)
Thandie Newton (MI 2, Chronicles of Riddick, Pursuit of Happyness)
Hank Azaria (Mystery Men, Godzilla, Along Came Polly)

I say you and your ppl go see it. A definite couple flick. Enjoy.

Ole Talk / For the fallen...
« on: February 21, 2008, 12:40:02 AM »
I just want to take this time to acknowledge a friend of mine who died on Monday night. Thank you, Keith. I will miss you. Be at peace and hug Jesus for me.

If you'd like, shout your fallen here. If you object, well, hard luck... I'm coping how I can.

Clan Announcements and Challenges / Guilty Gear Accent Core Sweat.
« on: February 11, 2008, 12:51:24 AM »
Greetings, folks. I recently picked up GG and I have to admit, it's REALLY cool. When I go to Trincity, I totally pwn with my Chipp and Venom. *Venom voice* NA-EEN BOLL!!!
Granted, my opponents are mostly n00bs but since I'm only 2 weeks old in Guilty Gear, I think that makes it fair. :happy0203:  I'm not sure what the differences are between GG X and Accent Core other than an actual Dust button but hopefully I'll have my own copy of Accent Core soon and I can properly acquaint myself.

I was thinking that perhaps a Sunday we should have an Accent Core sweat. I'd love a chance to pit myself against some better players and to see some cool matches. Imperial's got a killer Johnny (He makes Johnny look better than Ukyo, WTF). I also saw a wicked Eddie and a powerful Slayer. I won't be as ill-prepared and as handicapped as before because I've got a KOF 2001 PS2 stick that I'm willing to overwork. :awesome:

How's that sound? No rush, though. It should be a day when a good few ppl are up for it, no matter how long it takes. We could get some food and basically infest Java until fighting time is over. Anybody up for it?

Ole Talk / Life beyond the sword...
« on: January 31, 2008, 04:48:44 PM »
Hey folks. It's been a hard couple of weeks with Carnival around the corner. Everyone has their plans, both short and long term.

Meditation on my upcoming tasks made me think: What else are GATTers good at? I enjoy a good digital encounter as much as the next fighter but I also like poetry, music, martial arts, I dabble very lightly in graphics... What about you peeps? What's your life like beyond the sword?

BTW... Have a safe, enjoyable and well-behaved Carnival 2K8, folks.
*If a man mash yuh shoe or spill yuh drink, LET IT GO... Seriously.*

Clan Announcements and Challenges / Q's Quest
« on: January 21, 2008, 01:08:45 AM »
Hey folks. It's more of a proposition, really. I was just going to record some cool arcade clips and call that George but I was wondering if you peeps would like to be part of a vid featuring local gamers on the whole, Arcade and Console. I've got no problem bringing all footage for your perusal. You'll obviously want the assurance that you'll be part of something good. After putting names to faces at Java, my opinion of console gamers underwent a significant change. I fought Imperial just Saturday night and it was GOOD, I just didn't know him as Imperial.

Even if you guys decide not to, it's cool. At least now I'm better acquainted with the level of skill I've heard so much about. I might even make the complete switch to console gaming. (I NEVER DREAMED I'd even think those words.)

You guys are the real deal after all. I actually have a lot of hope for gaming now. You guys are as genuinely skilled in your arenas as I am in mine. MUCH respect.

BTW, here is the SvC Chaos combo I had with Akuma on my camera (the last half of it anyway). The whole combo is 100% damage. Not bad for a one-trick pony, eh Imperial? lol

It was GREAT coming to Java. I hope to meet the rest of the crew soon.

Peace, strength and respect;
Q.
