Word, Archer. Absolutely. The original was done in the context of what the future was seen to be at that time. This version is more of a hyperbolised projection of what is expected to obtain for the next 10-20 years. It's like Elysium at a "lower temperature"... Far less dystopian but still pretty messed up. Btw, I am convinced that Samuel L. Jackson was born to cuss... BORN ah say!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It was marvellously done. An excellently done update to all the themes addressed in the original trilogy, Samuel L. Jackson included.

Plain clothes or not, that is NOT how you address the public and if the man did not identify himself as an officer then you CANNOT fault the youth for his answer, especially in this climate where Satan specifically targetting KIDS these days. I'm a random youth-man and this big dude coming up to me to ask where I live without identification, without uniform and without even the time of day (Good morning, evening, etc)... Of COURSE it's suspicious.
Besides... If his skin were of a different hue, that would not have been the attitude of the "officer" in question so let's not pretend that THAT'S not a factor either. Where is this level of aggression and BALLS when dealing with REAL criminals?
