PC Gaming / Steam Wallet Cards. Legit or Hoax?
« on: May 07, 2014, 02:02:52 AM »
http://steam-wallet-cards.com/?click=16ce90

I stumbled across a website doing a promotion and supposedly giving away money on Steam for sharing their website and getting people to click on the link provided.

At the bottom of the page, it clearly states "This website is not affiliated in any way with Valve Corporation or any of their partners." But from what I can tell it's pretty harmless to your computer.

I'd like to test it out and get to 20 clicks to see if I actually will get the $20 Steam Wallet Card.

Unless anyone has information that this is indeed a hoax, if this website is in fact giving out freebees, I say we can help each other out. =D /I can get the money i want for Watchdogs XD

Have a friend who is considering an upgrade so MB, CPU, Cooler, RAM and possibly HD. Lol

Doesn't need the Case, PSU or GPU.

Selling parts separately or you'd prefer not to?

Awesome has a very valid point. Being able to just turn your TV on rather than have a device that has to stream something is more convenient to the majority.

Also, not everyone is knowledgeable about things like XBMC, Netflix etc. Senior citizens won't be in that loop unless they have family members who take the time to teach them. I'm pretty sure that the number of people who know what the term "HTPC" stands for spans no greater than the ones who own one.

Why this has affected me, not only because I follow a handful of series, I have parents who aren't particularly big on using technology in those ways. Dad has an S4 and mom has a Nexus 7 and they pretty much serve their very basic uses. I've now had to show them the website I use to stream series and even that is going to take some time to get them to use it because it's not their norm. I'm going to endure a few more weeks of complaining about they can't watch their shows before I have to show/set up something for them to do so.  :ko:

I've stopped watching TV during prime time because I can't watch the shows I follow. A lot of people aren't happy with this at all. You pretty much are paying to watch re-runs. I stream all my series now because of this. Now I wonder if Flow even has the legal ability to sell the rights of shows to the local stations. Probably not and I'll go with that theory until proven otherwise.  :shakehead:

Played a few games with my friend Pieman. Did some nice numbers.

What soured me as a Gen 7 man on my team who didn't know how to PTFO. Playing domination and came last on the team boasting of his KD in the previous match. -__- ... Scrub

I am on and off. A lot of the people who were originally playing at launch have disappeared (as usual -____-  ).

Mez and I still play. 2 of my friends bought it this week and I started playing with them as well.

Yes! My petition worked! Probably not...

Every time that Origin survey pops up I respond "1" for it's very unlikely that i would recommend Origin to a friend and my comment usually goes like this.

"I REFUSE to advise anyone I know with regards to using your service. Firstly, the Caribbean region does not use EUROS as a form of currency. Secondly, we are NOT a Spanish speaking region by majority. This blatant disregard for recognizing the Caribbean as a separate region from Latin America is an insult. I will NEVER recommend Origin to anyone until those factors are fixed."

At the time it was probably around $2000 USD give or take. The normal cost of an iMac. They are expensive and yes you can build a system for cheaper with the same parts if not better but it's a matter of personal preference, convenience and what you're going to use it for.

Having a 27" display that sits at 2560x1440 is very nice for doing photoshop, architecture work, 3D modeling etc.

The point is, I was very impressed that using Bootcamp works so well. He has no issues with any games. DOTA 2, Diablo 3, BF4, Sim City, SC2 etc.

Lolz waste of money for subpar specs

Subpar specs you say? I suggest you do some research before you make such comments.

I am in no way an apple fan boy. I own nothing apple with the exception of a random ipod cable that was left in my house 2 years ago. They make EXCELLENT products with the same components used in every other good-great quality laptops/ultrabooks/gaming laptops.

wow, Mac stepping up their game.

Wasn't expecting any demanding title to work well

It is an i7 M and a 6970M in it. It's bound to work well.

Titanfall seems to be the game to get. however i got the latest 27inc imac. Gues ill have to use bootcamp for it?

Yea. It works well. My cousin uses bootcamp on his iMac (2011) and plays everything. BF4 even runs well on it.
