The Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski was once described to us by rights owner and game publisher CD Projekt as the "Polish Tolkien", so the series is something of a symbol of national pride. Between that and its sometimes political nature, it's fitting that when President Barack Obama visited the country last week, Prime Minister Donald Tusk presented him a copy of The Witcher 2 (Collector's Edition, no less) and the English editions of two of the books -- The Wish and Blood of Elves -- signed by Sapkowski himself.

CD Projekt says the event is a first of its kind for Poland, and possibly anywhere. Suffice it to say, the company is beaming.

“We are very proud to know that Prime Minister Tusk felt The Witcher 2 was the most suitable gift for the US President," stated Adam Kicinski, CEO of Optimus S.A, CD Projekt's parent company. "It is a further indication that our game is a quality product. This recognition boosts the strong enthusiasm we are already feeling due to our game’s high scores from the media and its very healthy sales to date. It also sends a clear message to the entire new media industry in Poland that our government sees great potential in game development."

“This is an extraordinary acknowledgement of our hard work here at CD Projekt RED," said Adam Badowski, Game Director. "The Witcher 2 is a game we created for players around the world by drawing from various sources including our national heritage. We are truly pleased to promote our culture in this manner."

Meanwhile, the Polish government explains the gesture is simply an extension of their pride -- that and they want to promote the game and the Polish games industry.

“The success of Polish games makes us proud," stated Pawel Gras, Polish government spokesman. "It is one of the reasons Poland is regarded as an innovative, progressive country. The success of The Witcher 2, and its status as a top-selling title, should be made known around the world. That is why the Prime Minister chose it to give to President Obama.  We would like to congratulate the entire Polish game industry including the creators of The Witcher 2 and of all the other Polish games appreciated worldwide. We’re looking for the Polish game market to continue growing, and to exceed a billion PLN soon."

RIO is a 3-D animation feature from the makers of the “Ice Age” films. Set in the magnificent city of Rio de Janeiro and the lush rainforest of Brazil, the comedy-adventure centers on Blu, a rare macaw who thinks he is the last of his kind. When Blu discovers there’s another – and that she’s a she – he leaves the comforts of his cage in small town Minnesota and heads to Rio. But it’s far from love at first sight between the domesticated and flight-challenged Blu and the fiercely independent, high-flying female, Jewel. Unexpectedly thrown together, they embark on an adventure of a lifetime, where they learn about friendship, love, courage, and being open to life’s many wonders. RIO brings together a menagerie of vivid characters, a heart-warming story, colorful backdrops, energizing Latin and contemporary music, and family-friendly song and dance.

Ole Talk / 'Old Spice Guy' Proposes on Behalf of a Fan

George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Will Smith...these used to be the names mentioned when the topic of "The Perfect Man" was discussed. If you haven't heard, that debate is now over. What is the name of the reigning "Perfect Man"? Well, not many people actually know his name (it's Isaiah Mustafa), but mention the title of "Old Spice Guy" and people probably know who you are talking about. Mention "that guy in the Old Spice ads wearing nothing more than a bath towel," and they'll definitely know.

As seen in the overwhelmingly popular commercials, Old Spice Guy can do, well, pretty much everything (and they imply that a man who uses the product could do pretty much everything, too). On Tuesday, this guy performed perhaps his most amazing feat to date: he got a woman to agree to marry a mere mortal man.

That mortal, Johannes S. Beals, now known to the world as "Jsbeals," bowed down to the greatness of the deodorant pitchman -- via Twitter -- and asked Mustafa to propose to his girlfriend on his behalf.

Of course, the irresistible charm of Old Spice Guy worked. How could a line like, "your love has blossomed from a seed into a fully grown love plant and now it's time to fertilize that plant," delivered by a rippling-muscled hunk holding a ring and surrounded by candles, not? Yep, the girlfriend in question, Angela A. Hutt-Chamberlin, said yes.

Mustafa's videos have gotten such enormous attention on the internet -- the commercial that started it all has netted more than 13 million views at YouTube -- that even celebrities have been clamoring for Mustafa's attention.

Much as he can fly a jetfighter or get a random stranger's girlfriend to say yes to a wedding proposal, Old Spice Guy has also managed to keep up with all the attention.

He made a video for Rose McGowan, praising her movies and television work:

He sent roses to Alyssa Milano:

And, of course, these videos can't officially be considered an Internet phenomenon unless Ashton Kutcher is somehow involved. Rest assured, he is:
