Well, we'd definitely have to organise something in this again. Sadly, now that I work on Saturdays, I won't be able to make it until about 5 in the afternoons, tops. We'd probably have to organise a console sweat sometime on a Sunday, probably by JAVA or somewhere convenient.

What say you guys?

Dug this up from four years ago. Ordinarily, I wouldn't bother, but this statement amused me so much, I just had to repost it.

Quote
How honourable is it to play with ppl like Servbot, Roll and Megaman.  2 of those can duck under projectiles and are hard to land combos on and you know that. Where is your honour?

...thoughts?

lol @ that quote.there's nothing dishonourable about playing with those kids.U proved that they can beat n e body especially hi tier.megaman and servbot can hold there own w/o assist,Im not sure about Roll though as from wht Ive seen she needs an assist to make her effective(I could be wrong)
I have been trying megaman and Juggs(switch glitched) lately.Next time we meet Juggs will eat you :icon_pirat:...

No, you're quite right. Roll does need help to be effective.

Sadly, though, she's nowhere near as being effective in MvC2 as she was in 1 (such as it is.) At the very least, she could have held her own ground in 1 even if she had no assists or a partner (Beat Plane and tic-throwing/sweeping.) I could even tell you this one time where I almost made a complete comeback vs. Wolverine/Strider in that dire situation. (Keyword: almost.)

As for glitched Juggernaut....you do know use of him is generally discouraged in tournaments, right?

Rb is right.in tournaments someone has to be mad to pick Juggs except if they are playing Team Beast(tron, doom,Juggs).Juggs gets raped all sides in high level play.
Imo no character should be "discouraged" from tourneys.

Glitched Juggs is not only not banned, he should be doing that much damage in the first place. No one seriously uses Juggs since at least late 2000 - he dies to the Big Four and gets stopped dead by Doom Rocks.

Also, Servbot and Roll are rubbish. MvC2 MM is average. MvC1 Roll is also rubbish. MvC1 MM is interesting if you don't know how to fight against him, but he really dies to the top tier as well.

MvC1 MM is interesting if you don't know how to fight against him, but he really dies to the top tier as well.

Only if you don't know how to play with him. With the exception of Wolverine, there are quite a few things you can actually pull off with Mega Man that counters some of the tricks that the higher tiers (in MvC1) use (Beat Plane, for example, stops an Ouroburos induced Strider cold. Just ask quite a few people in Trincity.)

Really, Ultima....you've got to let go of some of these ideas you've been having. Namely, "If you don't pick A, you cannot beat B." In MvC1, it's rubbish thinking. True, GWM and the like are notoriously evil, but they definitely are not Storm/Sentinel/Cable-level broken. This Saturday, I'm going to have to personally free up your mind, because, as you will learn, not everything in that game is set in stone.

you really need to stop NEO, considering he was playing at the peak of the game, and saw the game at the highest level with the recognised best players in the world says a whole lot more than your notion of freeing up his mind.

Yeah. When I talk about these things, I'm really talking about the highest levels, not necessarily our little random giggle fests. And the thing is NEO, to compete at the highest levels, Mega Man and Beat Plane simply don't cut it. Mine is not rubbish thinking, it's reality thinking.

As I told you, you're not even the third best MM I've ever seen or faced, and those guys got crushed by Strider/GWM/WM/Red Venom (Wolverine is actually the worst of the top tier, at least in the arcade). I've done some of that crushing myself, but I was really just kinda average at the highest levels. And that was 9 years ago.

Don't take the roughly even (might have been slightly in your favour) wins against me as indicative of anything other than than you're fighting someone way past his prime, and who wasn't even that great (compared to the other really good players at the game) in the first place. And JD's DWM barely counts as a DWM team since his WM is barely being used at his potential (if you can't do Unfly infinite with WM, you're not using him right). The best players in the world couldn't stop a good DWM with anyone that didn't include Strider or a WM when the game was at its peak, far less now, barring perhaps keyboard Wolverine (certain Wolvie infinites become possible only on keyboard with macros) or HUGE gaps in skill.

BTW, you're right that GWM/WM aren't MvC2 Big Four - they're worse. At least the Big FOur in MvC2 are balanced against each other and there is no single best team. That doesn't apply to MvC1, where 1 team singlehandedly destroys all other teams, save for itself and, to a lesser extent, a team with Strider and a WM. If I hadn't seen this all first hand, perhaps I wouldn't believe it either. But I have, so I do.

Whip:

There wouldn't be much of a point to a grudematch since I'm not good enough personally to prove all the things I say (e.g. I can't do WM Unfly Infinite, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist, nor does it mean that a good WM won't likely kill you off of one knee dive), nor do I give enough of a rat's ass to try. The last time I got beat by Megaman, it took six months of heavy duty training to overcome (a former roommate of mine, perhaps the second best MM and definitely the best Cap A I've ever seen; I stole my Cap A from him), but once I did so, I never looked back. That was ten years ago and I no longer have the time or the will to do something like that. Maybe if I still liked MvC1 to any extent, but otherwise, no. I'll take my losses from children just fine, cause it proves nothing.
