bess movie there. i have it (as u can see from my sig) but i haven't watched it yet. but keep in mind that this thread is more for foreign language films. i kno it's hard to figure out what they say sometimes wit the accent, but it's still english.

just watched that. was pretty entertaining. 1 and 3/4 thumbs up. Kinda forgettable.

Could barely make out the English accents, so I guess it could pass as foreign language

Level gems for foreign cinema on netflix, movies from vietnam, all of asia, tonnes of cannes film festival, etc, numerous documentaries.

The Brest Fortress

An amazing war movie which pays homage to those who died for their Russian homeland. A dark and terrifying view from a losing standpoint. Highly recommended.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

This one's been gaining popularity with the coming release of the American version. Decided to watch the trilogy the other day and was pleasantly surprised. Do yourself a favor and watch this one before the remake comes out. While all 3 movies were good, the first was definitely the best.

Amores Perros

Another great, story-driven film. The film is constructed from three distinct stories linked by a car accident that brings the characters briefly together. Think of a movie like "Crash", and you'd get an idea of how it's structured. I fully enjoyed this one and have no problems recommending it.

An amazing, enthralling and very disturbing film. Can be a bit slow, but if you follow through with the story, you'll be in for one hell of a shocker by the end. OMFG the ending!!! I still quiver when I think about it. A definite recommend for those who rather story over action.

These movies may not be for everyone. With the exception of the first, they rely almost entirely on their story and great acting as opposed to cheap thrills and explosions. If you have an appreciation for those types of films, you won't be disappointed.

Just to clarify, the american version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is not a remake of the swedish film but a different adaptation of the book.

Not really eh, cuz technically they not remaking the original movie but adapting the book their way. I read the writer for the American version never even saw the swedish version but just writing based off of the book. So we may have different scenes etc.

A war classic from Akira Kurosawa. It's number 125 on IMDb's top 250 for a reason. A superb mix of action and story. You'll be sure to enjoy this one.

Got some catching up to do in this thread as well.

Started with Attack the Block (funny because I watched this just after Paul which had the same actor in it, purely by coincidence)

The English sure can cuss and act a fool.

Very entertaining. Crude, but entertaining.

I'll give it 8.5 female pheromones out of 10

Better than Paul, which was more a 6.5 on the alien movie scale.

Easily a 9 unsolved murders out of 10.

Classic "whodunnit" formula. Never gets old.
