I have to be honest here. It has been a long time since I have seen this many really quality movies during a summer period. It seems that every movie I go to see meets or surpasses my expectations ... and this is even before some of the biggest films come out (Dark Knight, Hancock, Wanted). This thread is meant to be just a summary of opinions of Summer movies of 2008 (one line comment per movie). Feel free to add comments as new movies come out.

The Forbidden Kingdom - A bit before summer ... Awesome movie with the 2 masters
88 Minutes - Nice Al Pacino flick
Iron Man - Probably the best comic book movie ever made
Speed Racer - Very colorful and fun movie
Kung Fu Panda - One of the best and funniest CG animated movies ever made
You Don't Mess With The Zohan - Adam Sandler is really funny ... Emmanuelle Chriqui is really hot
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - It's Indy, 'nuff said
The Incredible Hulk - Edward Norton is Bruce Banner ... very good stuff
Get Smart - Laugh out loud funny on a Mr. Bean level

My picks for the summer thus far:

Iron Man - Just a really fun film especially for someone with no Iron Man background.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - King of the summer imo thus far, besting the 1st with flying arrows.

The Forbidden Kingdom - Nice Martial Arts film.

Best movies ive seen this year so far

Iron Man - zomg epic win

Cloverfield - Watched it again on Blu Ray.....dred......wow

Incredible Hulk - FINALLY a good hulk move!!!

For the rest of the summer

Batman Dark Knight (like everyone else)

Hancock - I have a feeling this movie gonna fail, i am HOPING it wont.

Xfiles - I want to believe - HOPING its a good comeback, but i think they killed the series too much to revive it, its going to be to investigitave and ppl gonna be "i dont remember it being so slow"

Wall.E - This movie will hand Kung Fu Panda its ass - Simple reason Dreamworks dunno htf to make "fun" they just like to call their sh!t "projects"

WANTED - I hoping for a great nonstop over the top action ride like Shoot Em Up

some under the radar movies i think i may like

Twilight - Vampires! although its a love story. Chick flick

Mummy - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - No offense to those that liked it, but Forbidden Kingdom was EPIC FAIL, from the time i see white boy try to buss kung fu, and is the mc star, when Jackie Chan/Jet Li in it.

My best friends Girl - LOL....Kate Hudson (win), Dane Cook (woot) and Jason Biggs (LOL)....good kicks. REAL chick flick....actually "carry a buncha girls" chickflick

Righteous Kill - FOLKS!!! DeNiro and Pacino together again!!

Iron man - Best so far
Forbidden Kingdom - was decent
Indian Jones - was decent
Doh mess with etc was UTTER BALLS, not even that funny

I think it was released already in europe tho, looks awesome, lil bit of the professional, and la femme nikita flavor in it, a must seeee!

After seeing the trailer at movietowne, Babylon AD is definitely on my must see list for 2008.

Opening at the end of august.

i must say babylon's trailers manage to show nothign of the storyline wile showing teh pretty pickchures

Crixx, that Babylon AD is taken from books called Bablyon Babies. I read a lil synopsis online and got some spoilers immc, mcmcmc. Sounded interesting though.

Hancock [funny yet touched the heart a lil bit(prolly cuz i was tipsy)]
Dark Knight [action and suspense...the whole two face thing at the end was cool]
88 Minutes [GREAT MOVIE fullstop]
Zohan [Funny as hell]
The Love Guru [Jessica Alba and Mike Myers]
Kung Fu Panda [the parts that i got to watch were actually funny]
Mirrors [FUNNY]

Gonna watch Taken now.....planning to add it to the list in a while

not really most copies the audio goes out of sync in certain areas also there loud static burst at the beginning.

the audio is problematic at the start

but its fine if yur watching it on a psp with headfones like me

once u get past the static its perfect lol lol
