I like the sniper class in MW2 better than battlefield actually. In battlefield the sniper has no sway so noobs can snipe you quite easily even when you're a moving target.

An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.

Just finished a SIX HOUR sweat with woodyear and chinarakinda.

I am putting it to you here and now that Battlefield Bad Company 2 >>>>>>>> Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2  :)

...and keep in mind, is a beta we playin, and is only ONE map, but the gameplay so full of win each firefight
seems like a brand new experience.  I had a SWEATY run with the sniper class, and leveled up to 10 just with
that alone (with a dose of assault class too).  Not to mention action with tanks, humvees, ATVs and helicopter
UAVs.  You can actually use the UAVs to spot enemy infantry, and laser designate a spot on the ground for a
Hellfire missile strike.

Oh we had fun...LOTS of fun, and the game didn't lag ONCE.  I need to find out if the backend uses dedicated
servers for this beta or not, because the experience was FLAWLESS.  I distinctly remember DICE saying that
both the PC and PS3 versions of the game will use dedicated servers.  Hooray for THAT.

This game get the Arcman Approved stamp from the BETA yes.  :laughing7:

...of course this presents me with an all too familiar dilemma:  I'm buying the PC version for sure, but this PS3 beta
KICKS SO MUCH A$$, that I will be hard pressed to ignore it.  :(

Ah boy...decisions, decisions.

Yeah hoss, this is a must buy especially for battlefield fans. Yuh know I was looking through the unlockables and there is a reason why the tanks are so hard to kill at times. You can get added armor, added long range cannon, added infantry turrent, tank smoke camo, reduced cannon reload etc. lol Of course it can be countered with improved engineer explosives and of course those tag designators from the former specialist class in Bad Company 1.

Glad to see a 5 person helicopter transport in the full game, serious black hawk down styles, gotta clear that LZ hehe.

Man...I have spent WAY more time on this beta than I'd like to acknowledge right now  ...but dammmnnnnnn.

DICE gettin my money for TWO versions of this game yes.  It has proven to be just as kickass  on PS3
as I'm sure it will be on the PC.

I'll get it for ps3 don't have a 360 again unfortunately. It does indeed kick ass. Really does pull together the best parts of the battlefield series. And the beta doesn't even have all the cool vehicles like helicopters and jet skis lol.

For those playing the beta, saw some decent tips posted for dealing with tanks. Unlocks FTW.

http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-bad-company-2-ps3-beta/856398-best-way-fix-tanks-picture-2.html

TTanks aren't that overpowered. When you start getting the unlocks, you'll see just how much easier it gets to take them down.

Here's some suggestions:

    * Instead of a pistol, pick the tracer gun, and trace every enemy tank you see. Anyone with an RPG will shred that tank from around corners, and unlike the original BFBC, people actually TRY to rocket tanks.
    * The recon kit has a mortar unlock after the SV98 sniper rifle. I think at rank 24 (maybe 23) you get the Higher Explosives perk. Combine the two and it takes a tank out with a single mortar, if it doesn't move.
    * Apparently the 3rd rocket launcher unlock is excellent to use against vehicles. Not sure about this one because I haven't seen anyone that had it unlocked yet.
    * Increased Explosive perk + C4 or anti tank mines will take a tank out in 1 hit, no matter where you put the C4 (even on the front of the tank). So it no longer takes 2 C4's to kill a tank.
    * I'm 90% sure that equipping the Vehicle Increased Damage perk affects KORNET anti-tank emplacements as well. I could be wrong, here. I'm gonna test this tomorrow.
    * In general, rockets > mines.
    * Everyone knows this one but I'll add it anyway: Glancing blows do less damage than direct hits, and the front of a tank is the strongest. It gets weaker and weaker as you get to the back. A direct hit with a KORNET right up the vents in the back, will take out a full health tank in one shot.
    * Edit: I forgot UAVs! If you hit it in the back half of the tank, it's a one hit kill. If you're decent in the UAV you can take out both defender tanks right when the game starts, before your team's tanks are even through the gates. UAVs are incredibly INCREDIBLY powerful against tanks if you hit them right.

Yeah my stats were reset as well, but its a bug, because after a few hours everything was back to normal.

...and I finally have the mortar strike unlocked for Recon.  I was able to 'bring da rain' down on
several tanks yesterday.  :)

Actually that happened to me the first few times I played it, at first I thought stat tracking was not included in the beta :p. It only started recording my stats on Saturday night I believe.

Well lookee here...

Just reinstalled BF2, and found out that...

DICE done gone and make BOTH expansions FREE FREE FREE  :yay:
(since August 2009)

Yep, both the Armored Fury AND Euro Force expansions...but its a big-@$$ file though.  A whole 1.9 GB,
but believe me when I say: its TOTALLY worth it.

* fires up download manager *  :happy0203:

Gotta love em.
