Actually, I've just done some research, it appears that the 940 AND the 965 are to be discontinued at the same time....and unless Intel is into doing hoaxes, then I'd wager that the retirement of those chips are very much on...

Those sites missed out on the fact that the 965 is going to be phased out as well...

Well I suppose it highlights which lines of the i7 is selling more than anything else...

Very well.  I stand corrected then. 

The 920 is so insanely overclockable for the price, that no one is buying the 940,
and certainly not the 965 either.  These CPUs are only showing up in boutique PCs.

lol was expected.... and with the enthusiast community either getting a 975 or a 920 the 940 and 965 have stalled lol... had to go sometime anyways to make room for the i5 chips
