95% of home users stick to gmail/hotmail/yahoo mail/<insert webmail client here>
So Outlook is overkill for them.

I LOVE Outlook but I can see why Microsoft would choose to omit it from a "Home" version of their Office suite.

Same for a database. Do a quick poll on these forums and see who built a relational database at home in the last 11 months using Microsoft Access. Even amidst our tech heavy demographic, the percentage will be very slim.

Those apps are better left in the "Office" version of Microsoft Office. lol

Thunderbird, it's free, just as good as Outlook (additional plugins available for additional features closer to Outlook) did I mention its free?
