Forgive the double post and the slight rant, but why am I not seeing this movie in the coming soon listings in MovieTowne or Trincity!  :protest: Am I missing something? Any insight?

Take it easy UG it's coming lol. Well yea I expect the 2nd week to be around the 30-35 Mil range. The only new movie opening is Cars 2 but that would only pull away the "lil kids crowd" so we'll see.

Well I suppose now's as good a time as any to post these

Didn't expect giant B.O. like TF or HP just a respectable amount which it should make. And could be CBM fatigue eh, third one for the year.

O_o whoops did not see that till after. Oh well for those who don't know TF- Transformers. HP-Harry Potter, CBM- Comic book movie, BO- Box office lol.

Must admit it looks awesome, tho the negative critics may have taken away from it earning more. Well Summer vacation is now officially kicking off across there so who knows. Also at the beginning of the first vid I swear I saw what looked like Manhunters being destroyed.

If i told you i agreed with what all or mos the critics are saying about this movie my mother would slap me normel, the movie though lacking some smoother transitions was actually well done the cgi though looked rather spotty in previews was another "let down " that failed to manifest imo.

All and all its worth checking out

It opens here this week. We'll check it out and give our views.

I read it's still a summer movie worth checking out but this was one of the more over hyped movies this year so it's all about each individuals expectations, just don't go in there expecting a story of Mass Effect proportions just yet lol. I read  the reason for the spotty cgi in the trailers is that the marketing team didn't get all of the finished footage up front.

http://insidemovies.ew.com/2011/06/20/green-lantern-box-office/

It is early, so I'll wait and see how much it makes at the end of it's theatrical run.

Ok this movie was not the greatest of all time I thought it would be but if was AWESOME!!!!

I cannot see how the critics are ripping into this. I really enjoyed it. The CG was pretty well done and the use of 3D was certainly better then Thor.

I think we have a disconnect here.

Really I just feel the critics were comparing this to the likes of TDK and First class. Yes it was not those movies but it was freaking awesome, enjoyed this more than Thor. The audience loved it as a lot of ppl were outside talking about it after.

The CGI was integrated nicely with the practical effects they used. Heck the fight scene with Hammond and Hal had Campbell's trademark all over it since it was so "hard hitting" therefore making it the most memorable battle from the movie for me.The CGI did look better than in any of the trailers I'd say that was a marketing blunder on WB's part. Sinestro and the rest of the Corps had ample screen time, nothing more was needed since this was Hal's story. Gonna see this a 2nd time when 2d is available.

And make no mistake Ryan Reynolds IS Hal Jordan.

There was a lot to take in for the short run time but other than that and some scenes that were edited too short the movie is a solid 7 GL power rings out of 10.

There is also a scene mid-credits not post, roughly bout 1-2 mins after the initial cast credits start rolling.
