Heads up

Under Windows 7 RTM and Catalyst 9.7, I saw a whopping DOUBLE in framerates from about 60-75 to 150+ at the same settings.

After upgrading I had to look to make sure the settings did not revert to defaults.

Inall fairness, the Catalyst was the main factor in the increase since the game was running on 1 of the cards all the time. The update just made the 2 render the game.

To summaise, only crossfire users would see this advantage...which incidentally includes the two posters above me.

Finished the game this morning. Great gameplay and great story. Pretty good game thumbs up, pretty short too. Only took just over 6 hours to complete on normal difficulty.

One caveat is that it doesnt seem to like my crossfire config. After about half hour of play, the game would lock up and crash into an ati dll bluescreen error. Disable xfire and boom, stability returns.

Well that's quite strange. The cards not even overclocked or anything and other games work fine. Must be windows 7 thing in truth. The problem cropped up only after about half hour of continuous gameplay. Played it that long?

That might be due to good ol overheating.  I had to revert to my trusty X2, because the murderous heat
generated by 2 x HD4870s with this particular game was almost too much for the rig to handle.

Ok, been doing a bit of research on the error i've been getting (atikmdag.sys). Turns out one can get this error by just having two monitors connected to the system while gaming. I will try dosconnecting one and see whats what.

edit

I see windows had an update for the monitor for me. That will probably fix the problem.

I recently had the privilege of playing this game's MP modes, and while its nowhere near as frantic as COD4, its a nice change of pace from what you're used to.  Especially the 'Wanted' mode, where one player at a time starts off being 'wanted', where he alone can shoot everyone else, but the other players cannot shoot each other, only the 'wanted' player.  When that happens, that player then becomes wanted...and only the wanted player can increase his score by killing the other players.  You need to be pretty strategic with your character choice in this mode.  You can even play as an Apache, complete with bow and arrow, which is more effective in this game than you might think.

Its a pretty fun variation on FPS MP.
