Apparently marvel killed him....kinda....

Okay, folks. Taking bets now....how long until the Punisher comes back to normal?
I'm betting at least a year, tops.

Also, Marvel, I know you like Daken and all, but please stop. Having a newbie like him suddenly be toe-to-toe with die hard veterans that took years to develop is only making him a f**king Canon Sue.

steups.....daken is a wolverine rip off and punisher went toe to toe with wolverine back in the day [wolvie/pun damaging evidence] so i'd say it was lame. on the other hand the powers that be seem to like this guy and they decided that he'd take out frank so bleh. franks dead.....like to see how they gonna bring him back to normal again...some magic crap i'm sure.....enter dr strange......

thing is wolverine wouldnt aim to kill frank eh, Daken however has no such restrictions.

Honestly I don't know whats going on in comics today...i believ we're back in the mid 90's when marvel was running out of ideas and stared doing some really weird stories.....

this story reeks of weird...i mean really....Frankenstein punisher? Brought back to life to help save monsters? Really? That's the best marvel could come up with? Ugh...i'll stick to my back issues for now.....

Crixx: As for why i call daken a rip off is that why create him in the first place? I don't think he's necessary [imo] or is he supposed to be the new sabretooth? Btw is sabretooth alive or is he permanently dead? I remember wolverine taking his head off a while back.....

Indeed.

On the note about Daken being a 'Wolverine rip-off', he's not really a rip-off as much as he is another member of Wolverine's Bat-Family. It irks me that Marvel's taking this route with Wolverine, because it makes him less unique as a character with two more versions of him running around. Daken particularly pisses me off because he's taking on Marvel mainstays fresh from the womb, so to speak, without us really getting into the character.

I personally don't even know why Marvel created him, especially when the 'offspring of Wolverine' angle has already been taken by a far better character, X-23.

I have a crazy theory, though, that Marvel is actually making the 'extra' characters from the Marvel vs. Capcom series 'canon', in a sense, by introducing similar characters in their comic books. I mean, we have Red Hulk (MvC) and Anti-Venom (Red Venom's alternate costume in MvC), so why not have Daken there to explain the fact that Wolverine exists twice in MvC2? I mean, it's not quite the same, seeing as how it's obviously Wolverine with Bone Claws, but we can at least pretend it's Daken, right?

...right?

I don't care what anybody says, he's basically the Wesley of Marvel Comics, and I hope he dies a horrible, painful death by having Happy the Cow fall on him right before having his body vaporised by Doctor Doom's Photon Array.

ok so I just read Dark Reign The List Punisher and all i can say is DAMN!
Comics rel get bloody since my days boy...wow....
that was one DREAD fight scene...i posting it jus in case ppl eh know what i talking about.....

It's not that they're running out of ideas, Flip my boy.
It's that they're coming up with pretty bad ones. Although Franken Castle does have potential to be a badass, but we've always known him as the biggest Badass Normal in the Marvel Universe, which is why doing this is just.....argh.

woaH!...Punisher DEAD? Frank castle is the greatest and most down to earth marvel 'superhero' in my book.Although there was an issue in the MAX line where he did in fact die...but as an Old man through radiation exposure!...I absolutely love the punisher max series...and follow the Marvel MAX line of comics ...If you are a punisher fan, I seriously recommend it especially the earliest issues that were written by Garth Ennis...
