Update #10 - "Near"
Near detects all PlayStation devices in the area, what other people are playing, rankings, leaderboards for games etc. It also tracks where you've been in the world, travelled to and gives information for every area you passed through. Links to PlayStation Store. Possible multiplayer integration using Near as well.

Update #11 - Motion Control. Imagine playing Hot Shots Golf. Seeing your golfer, then motioning the NGP forward. This takes you to first person view.
More touch integration into games, place the ball where you want to place it, look around using motion control to line up your shot etc.

Update #12 - HINT at backwards compatibility with existing PSP library through aforementioned "PlayStation Suite"

Impressive specs, but I absolutely ABHOR proprietary media, and Sony is KING of proprietary.
OMFG...after all these years, Sony STILL aint get the hint?

I would have liked if they had a Steam-like service where you could buy/download games directly to the device
via 3G/wifi, instead of saddling us once again with some obscure media.  Maybe it's a good thin if you exist solely
within the Sony ecosystem, but for the rest of us, it's a real pain.

...and killer specs  is one thing, but killer apps  is a different matter altogether.

looks decent but I've skipped the mobile scene since inception (never owned a gameboy, ds, psp, ngage, nada) and I see no reason to change now.

Will wait till blackberry catches up to Ios/android in the gaming department. Angry Birds ftw.

within the Sony ecosystem, but for the rest of us, it's a real pain.

The new media is a modified SD card which will store the games as well as game saves and any game updates. It actually is a good idea as they said that they now have removed game size limitations. Games could be released on 1gb SD cards to as high as 8gb SD cards and beyond. It's proprietary also due to piracy. If it was just a regular SD card, well we have a problem lol.

As for games, yea pretty sure they are releasing them via PlayStation Store for wifi/ps3 download.
The new PSP is also basckwards compatible with any games purchased from PS Store for the original PSP.
Games like God Of War, Gran Turismo etc, that I bought digitally will be playable on it :).

No price confirmed lol. I also read that GameStop have a placeholder price of $999USD.

I pretty sure this gonna be somewhere between $299 - $399.
Any higher than $400 and Sony gonna have a problem on its hands.

Looks good to me.At last the kids at SONY are trying to do somthing other just bosting graphical power. But its funny how they putting games on cards and calling it "NEW GAME MEDIA" when Nintendo has used it for so long. And as i remember Sony called Nintendo backward for useing cards in the past.Step your game up Sony!
