hey all, as some of you already know, my team and I will be representing Trinidad and the Caribbean region in the Microsoft Imagine Cup competition (software development).

lol, i posted about this earlier...
But its never bad to get as much exposure as possible

We're at 5th right now ppl.

Day one: we were at 1st! then we dropped all the way down to 9th by the end of the day.
We're now at a steady 5th... and its day 2!

We're the Caribbean damn it! And we stick with each other!

It was down to 11th last i checked unfortunately. You can vote multiple times if you have multiple email address, it requires a bit of signing in and out, i actually went ahead and deleted my cookies for the day to make re-voting easier.

BTW, bad news. Seems as though I may not get my VISA in time to travel. They held back my application stating "We need to do some additional administrative processing".
From my uncle's experience, it takes about 3 weeks before they call you back.

So i may not even be able to go to the international finals next week

So it seems as though I will not be attending the International finals in New York starting next week.
The American Embassy has withheld my VISA application stating that they need to do some "additional administrative processing" (otherwise known as security assessment). From which i've heard (my uncle experienced this before), it takes about 3 weeks, sometimes even months. Meaning that I will not get my VISA in time to travel to the event.

My 3 years of dreaming, and 2 years of personal sacrifice is being ignored possibly because I am a muslim (speculation on my part).
Microsoft Corp. is attempting to reason with the embassy, but has stated to me that there isn't much that can be done, with the embassy's processes. Odds are, that their attempts will fall on deaf ears.

To the people who constantly reference the fact that their people have been enslaved and that they deserve more.
To the people who's families were eradicated during the holocaust.
To the people who were segregated and made to sit at he back of the bus.

When will the muslim community get their Rosa parks?
We are constantly mistreated just because of our name and belief!
It is HYPOCRITICAL that at the Trinidad US embassy their are huge posters referencing Rosa Parks, and Martin Luther King. Yet a blind eye is turned to the other injustices being doled out.

Expect to hear more about this though. Because I'm not taking this sitting...

The other 2 members of my team will be attending, to represent Trinidad. They are from Guyana and Grenada. Trinidad will not have a citizen representing them.

Damn my friend. That is quite unfortunate. My sympathy goes out to you. I even voted as much as i could have =(.. To think that we're gettin the short end of the stick because of what has happened and what's goin on in the world right now. Thousands of miles away from us =/
