LaTale is an MMORPG that takes you into an action-packed world filled to the brim with monsters and other creatures. Players of Grand Chase and Maple Story will come to understand its gameplay, for La Tale plays very similarly to 2-D sidescrolling beat-em-ups. La Tale boasts many things, from its colorful environment and flashy graphics which push 2-D art to the limit.

The game also features familiar, but different character classes. One may take the path of the warrior with two-handed swords and spears, or take the swift archer with its collection of ranged attacks. The game also features original job paths, but still retains some similarity to other MMOs. For instance, take the "explorer" class, or the "ranger" class. They specialize in daggers, crossbows and bows in their first job, but when they continue to their second job, they may choose to hone their latent abilities of dagger and bows, or choose to practice a completely new job class which uses a completely different weapon and a new way of using your character

Pros: The game itself is decent. For any MMO player who won't be bothered with 2D side-scrolling, and Maplestory-comparative gameplay, overall, it's quite good. With the variety of classes, skills, quests, and areas to explore, you might find it good.

Cons: 3 Character Slots don't put much into comparison. The game also shares a huge similarity to Maplestory.(Not too much visually, but it might give you that odd feeling)

Summary: It's a great game overall. Try it. Enjoy it. Since it's in it's first stages of an MMO, I hope that their are major improvements to it, and nothing too big to mess the game's ego up. I didn't like it too much, but that's just me. So, see for yourself.

Now if 2d Anime-style button smashing mmo is for you then you should difn give this a chance

UPDATE: Both La Tale and Maplestory support USB controllers, and they have revamped alot since this first post.

Currently I'm in Maplestory and i can vouch for the events that are not solely Cash mall based. If you can try them both, but for me Maplestory won me over. If you are drawn the same way, look me up on El Nido Server, seek ManaTemplar or ManaSayian

How populated is El Nido?
Planning to start a new char on a less populated server when Demon Slayers are available.

Yea demon Slayers, *drools* wonder who'd get the cool vamp names first? El Nido is the server catered to those of the -4 -5 GMT timeline ( Eastern US and Caribbean) The server is always bustling, but never overcrowded. The Quick lvl spots are camped across the 20 channels on weekends, but given the new arenas and instances, hard to say the normal instances are the only places to lvl up, the new maps give good exp for teams and give great rewards of equips/potions/medals and such.

Seek ManaTemplar or Manasayian there if you wanna do an instance or questing Besides those 2 there are 6 more of me

Probably a good idea to make mules to reserve them cool vamp names =]

Good idea on the mules, only trouble is that that job class starts and stays as Demonslayer under resistance job class, from what I saw on youtube that you start out @ lvl 10 AFTER the pre story and when you join the resistance. SO it's not a job you get to pick from @ 1st job change, you start and stay as that job from the get go.

regarding the mules though...the name reserving method is pretty much fool proof isn't it:
1) Create mule with cool vamp name today
2) When resistance class is available...delete mule...reuse name on newly created demon slayer

I already have one reserved...hope it's still mine when the time comes lol

Worth a shot, though I'm pretty sure the names can't be reused, i'll try that sometime and see if it works.

i played both and they are both lovly however i experience horrible 5 secs lag when i play maple now...latale is more flashy tho art design is well thought out
