That legit or some sort of april fools prank gone wild?

Tried retrieving one and it took me to some dubious survey site which said you must fill out a survey to download the key.

(why would you have to download a bloody key?? its just a string of text) Further more, there were no valid surveys for my region, so salt.

Boom bang

Debut by one of the old school GATT members. Man played the whole game and decided to bank his money to unheard of levels instead of spending it, earning him the first ever Calder Hart award in a Dota match.

To make the achievement even more insane, we won this game. Coming back from being down 20 - 3 in the beginning and despite Antimage disconnecting from the match.

well played gentlemen, well played.

hahaha, now this is some fantastic news

http://unrealitymag.com/index.php/2012/04/26/being-mean-in-dota-2-might-cost-more/

Looks like Valve is gonna put the squeeze on emo-rage-quitters

Which gave me an idea.

"A hall of rage"

Where we post a screen cap of dota players who emo-raged out of games.

May have an opportunity to post our first rager sooner than you think. lol

Come this Sunday, Mez and his team of Dota All stars will be taking on the GATT dota team in a 5v5 bess out of 3

To keep the games balanced, we're adding a small twist. The best performing player from the first game switches places with the worst performing player.

Comedy should ensue

Hmm without a recording of the voice activity it would lose context... 2 ppl should record the mumble streams, 1 for each team (preferrably someone NOT in the game, or the judge/spectators)

lol, good idea!

Also, sometimes the raging is by text. So you can actually snap a screenshot of the offenders text chat.

Mumble raging is usually a lot less vicious (since its by voice amongst friends....with the exception of mez who rages anyway regardless, lol)

The screenshots would also show the # of deaths the emo quitter has, which tells the story pretty well. They seldom rage if they are winning and pwning up the place.

I think... this system... is BS.

Whats going to stop trolls from gang raping (reporting) a person just to cause them grief? It still doesn't prevent people from making smurf/dwarf accounts and just get away from 'punishment' from being reported by other players. Also doesn't stop someone from commending themselves 100x over. Gunz i tell u, gunz!

Slap a $20-$30 USD price tag on it and done. Keep the all the unnecessary crap (people) out the game. If people really want to play the game, pay for it. If dota is really as popular and loved as we believe it to be, the hardcore fans will not flinch to spend the money to get the game.

sweet @ phantom lancer

But back to the anti-raging system by Valve, I think the system could work.

Look at our karma/chakra system on the forum for example.

Generally, people with high chakra are solid, constructive contributors to the forum. Generally, people with negative chakra, are not.

There will always be the few exceptions to the rule....but they are that. Exceptions.

In which case, you have a dispute resolution process to follow that could reset their standing.

So for example, bringing it back to Dota 2.

Lets say I played an epic game and pwned 10 - 2 with Dragon Knight (hypothetically speaking) but my team mates decided to report me anyway.

Valve flags me as a trouble maker. I initiate the dispute resolution process and submit a replay of the game. Valve reviews, sees no offense committed by my part (no liming afk in the fountain, no disconnection, no foul language....nothing) and promptly removes the flag.

Everybody lives happily ever after.

Workable, don't you think?

The number 3 was specifically patented by Activision.  In fact, just by saying it in my previous sentence, I now owe them $127.50.

Basically it is all good news.

Blizzards Makes their All Stars Moba game

Valve continues to make Dota 2

All is good in the world.
