lol

actually got in on the beta some moons ago. Flew for a few minutes (if you could call flailing around like a one winged battimamsel flying) then put it down.

Still, it was a considerable step up from the old offerings in terms of graphics.

Modern and more accessible.

The 'Red Tails' P-51 Mustang is now available for free...well, for those who purchased the original P-51 anyway...

Handles quite nicely.
Landings are a bit trickier, due to the faster landing speeds, but the better handling makes hunting Aerocaches a lot eaiser.

Props to Microsoft for making this game so accessible.  It's not a true simulation, but it's close enough.
Not entirely happy with the pricing scheme for certain aircraft/content, but you do get what you pay for.
Your level of skill/commitment determines how much real cash you're willing to pony up.

That said...I need to get the Maule to start doing them cargo missions.

I know...it doesn't sound at all exciting, but for flight-game fans, it's akin to long, slow, satisfying sex.  :sassy:

I was hoping we have more content to choose from by now, I got bored of the basic stuff a while ago. I didn't purchase any of the stuff that was available though.

As the commenters said...the nickel-and-diming for new planes/content, combined with the rather relaxed flight model made it a 'jack of few trades...master of nothing' kind if game.  Hardcore sim fans wouldn't touch it, and casual fans wouldn't feel compelled to shell out real cash for one new plane.  I myself voiced my disdain of the DLC pricing, but as a flight-game fan, I bought one plane anyway, and I understood exactly what I was getting when I did.

It's a damn shame... I really like it, and I hoped they would have gradually introduced meaner jets in the future.   *sniff*

For a 'casual' game, it's actually rather good.

Good ole X-Plane, last time I heard about them was quite a few years ago. v10 really looks good, I'll give the demo a try.
