Same bands and HDSPA as the Iphone 4s

Apparently in Trinidad, HDSPA is 4G (judging from what Digicel says on their website)

Good ole digicel lol. Ill Call HSDPA + 4g, but d regular one way slower. 4G in america, is all kinda 20 meg. and LTE is 50. A total difference than what d Caribbean branding as 4g.

I'll settle for a 5mb down, 1 mb up connection on my phone as "4G" yes.

Considering that is a helluva upgrade from the current 128k connections we currently "enjoy" lol

the sensation does not have the 1900mhz 3g band that digicel is operating on..

How exactly you trying to activate the service?
Because the service is activated on the sim card. And once you tell digi enable 4g for your sim.
All you have to do is put in the APN, and the phone will automatically hook up at 4g once selected in your options. Whats this activate thing you talking about?

U.S. users don't get those kinds of speeds you're mentioning. Those are theoretical lab speeds, they don't exist in practical use. Second, the concept of branding HSPA+ as 4G started with Sprint in the U.S. and was used by all their carriers (except Verizon I think). It comes from the fact that HSPA+ delivers speeds in excess of WiMAX, which is accepted as a 4G technology.
So don't fight them down, they not doing anything out of the ordinary. Trini just feel that every mobile operator out to get them.

And if everyone wants to get real technical, there is no technology on the market at the moment that fits the original ITU standards for 4G. Even LTE from a tech point of view is "3.9G". The "true" 4G technology, LTE-Advanced, hasn't seen any deployment yet.

I have used 4g from various carriers in the USA and none of which did over 4mbits each. They are just rated speeds. Not actual. Providing that amt of bandwidth across a nation is God like. Not happening

I have no idea what 4g, what network, or who alyuh talking too. I personally know men in amercia (my friends), who get 20 meg on 4g and 48~50 on LTE.

Alyuh mustbe bad lucky or in ah shit area or something lol.

But it is not theoretical speed, is real, i see it for myself.
Rewind and come again.

Unless men was on wifi and cheating or something.
And i feel Bmobile 4g go be better than digicel. It is where i am.

If you're in very close proximity to a tower you can get those speeds or if nobody using the network, but they are not averages or medians.

I'd say that beats your anecdotal data. Furthermore, I work in this industry. Not just on projects in Trinidad but in other parts of the region as well on projects that have dealt with 3G/4G transitions. No matter which man where get what, I know what the averages and medians are (straight through industry sources/news), and those aren't it.

Weather it's 2MB or 10 MB it's nice to have this at my finger tips when I'm outside the office .

I get about 7-10mb in central which is Dam good

So I'm very please with the service so far .

Is that 7-10 Megs, International? Or to a local server?
Set d speedtest to newyork, or miami, or atlanta or somewhere off-island.. Otherwise d speedtest is useless.

I saw a test that was to an international server with my own eyes that hit about 5mb down and 1mb up.

That was pretty solid (which is why I quoted that figure)

The tests to the local server will be much stronger no doubt....but we don't really get much content off of T&T shores, lol
