I'm all for nostalgia, but having beaten the original, can't see myself doing it again, even with better graphics.

Too many great, new games on my hard disk that haven't seen the light of day as is, to be revisiting classics.

As shocking as this might sound, I never played the original Half Life....

*gives readers a moment to recover*  :laughing7:

...so this is a real bonus.   (and only on the PC, kiddies  (troll)  )

I can think of a few other games that deserve a remake with updated graphics engines, like Unreal Tournament 2004  :happy0203:

hhahaha @ confession friday

I am indeed shocked by the admissions.

Half Life was the penultimate fps experience on the PC for many years.

Not playing that is like a JRPG fan not playing Chrono Trigger

If you missed that boat...then by all means...you are in for a treat!

Sometimes a classic experience like this could be outshone by modern titles and thereby lose the original charm it had back in the day.

Hopefully the upgrade in graphics will help save you guys from that effect.

In other areas, you won't be so lucky....for example...the AI was ground breaking in Half Life 1. Enemy units would shoot at you, and if you took cover...they would throw a grenade to flush you out. Nowadays that sort of AI implementation is standard fare so it would hardly impress battlefield/cod veterans.

The time allyuh wasting to confess allyuh "i never play HL1" sins here,

I done jump in deep for today alone... Tis worth the download.

And yes, I did beat the original half life.

Shame on Valve for letting a 3rd party mod do it better ...
God is dead.

I played first one...many times...

http://kotaku.com/5944812/black-mesa-the-kotaku-review

Judging from that article it seems its more than a fresh coat of paint. As for the rest of allyuh who eh play it....I think I am younger than allyuh  :laughing7:

The Alien homeworld level will be released later, they modifying that too as those who played it would remember the original prolly made you cuss a few times lol.
