oh no preston...i cant say i choose tstt over digicel..never..

their consistency is pure balls....no matter what anyone says..digicel for my has always been a better experience AND their rates are even cheaper voice wise..

but i would really like to see a price bly from digicel now that their monopoly is over....

im with arc on this one..

I just glad we have 4g and we have a choice. You all do remember how bad Internet access was just a few years back. Pretty amazing stuff we got these days....

In fact, some gamers from the states that I met recently told me that we have better / faster internet here than they do.

Thought our island would have had backwater connections.

When they saw 15mb Flow for $299.99, unlimited and did the math to US$, they were impressed.

Faster on paper and in actual use than the internet access they had back home in the US of A.

True story.

Yeah, data caps for broadband connections are pretty commonplace now in 1st world countries.
I don't think we that vicious on Flow's bandwidth utilization yet (well, except for Rage, lol) for them to have to ress a cap on we

It would be interesting to see which mobile network would be the first to implement a proper unlimited 4G plan...and the price.

...and it seems that Digicel has already responded by increasing the 1GB smart plan to 2GB.
The 4GB plan still the same though.

Tons better than Edge.

I dont think you guys should look forward to unlimited pricing, becuase it is being phased out in the world today. When AT&T see how much data picking up, they stop providing unlimited to new customers, and made it so difficult for exisiting customers that they woudl have no choice but to switch. All US carriers follow suit, Sprint is d only one i'm aware of still have unlimited but that wont last long. Over here in cayman, bmobile is 7gb packages max, doh even know what digicel is, i only have unlimited cause i was grandfathered in. Bmobile nor Digicel in trini go do unlimited as far as i see.

And wyatt, at the US internet pricing goes, d price we paying for 100mb on flow kinda insane when compared, but i have some partners in d states with 50/50 fios to they house. And doh they download slower, them men getting 50meg upload compared to flow's 3. Bigg difference. And @ 50megs download you really not going to see a difference in speed unless yuh pulling some serious torrents

To be honest 5 gigs per month should be enough for the average user. This 4G isn't going to replace a fixed line broadband connection. I could see some people using it tethered if their web usage needs are very light (email, fb etc.) since you can opt for a 10 gig package.

I read an article recently where it may be advisable in the US to get a business connection rather than residential. It was an ars technica author and he showed his bill which was marginally higher than the residential but had benefits like static IP address, unlimited data. Trick was it wasn't very published, most ppl weren't even aware there were packages like his. Might be the way to go

If the latency was sub 100, you could throw away your cable modem.

Can you do a test to a Florida server for an apples to apples comparison?

As digicel to flow is domestic traffic, the numbers there could be misleading.

Digicel uses Flow as their backbone.

@ messiaah, either way you slice it, the fact is Trinis getting damn good internet. Rivaling that of the states and by some accounts, superior. Which is to support Woody's point. We really have little to complain about it in that department.

Also, Tmobile just began advertising an unlimited plan like crazy. If its successful, and I expect it will be.....others (namely AT&T) will be forced to follow.

With that kind of mobile connection you can DEFINITELY ditch your land line for everyone but the hard core internet users like Rage. lol
