ah, understood.

Well I am a fighter whore.

KOF, Tekken, Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, Samurai Shodown, Battle Arena Toshiden (+1 if you know this game), Virtua Fighter, Dead or Alive, Mortal Kombat, Last Blade, Bushido Blade, One Must Fall, Guilty Gear, Garou, Fighters History (another +1 if you know this), Art of Fighting, Dark Stalkers, Pocket Fighter, Sango Fighter, World Heroes, Mace, etc.....

Not to mention a ton of cross overs, Like Marvel vs Capcom, Xmen vs Street Fighter, Streetfighter x Tekken and more.

lol

So yeah, expect me (and those from the old fight school like Messiaah) to be stoked about Killer Instinct's remake.

My kingdom for a decent 2.5D Samurai Shodown and Last Blade.

Programmers, make it happen!

Ah yes, das wah we talking bout. I've highlighted  in red the games I've played and love, and the other comments I agree with.

I ain't 'miss' nothing.

I've played every single one of those.
Liked a lot of them.  Especially Virtua Fighter and Dead or Alive.

Street Fighter stuck with me, while all the rest faded from relevance.

...and no, not all of them need to be remade.
We have emulators for that.

Can't run an emulator?   GTFO.  Seriously.

lol. That is what I thought....I was wondering wtf you saying earlier bout you are a "Street Fighter purist" and not a fan of the fighter genre.

Was now about to ask who are you....and what did you do with the real Arcmanov.

I meant they completely remove Kinect from Gameplay, and I also said they looking at more intelligent implementation of Kinect, feature enhancements and not forcing man to use motion control for games.

And that's exactly what they doing.

When used in this manner, brilliant.
Trying to force hard core to wave they hand at the screen to move a character? Epic fail. (they was doing it with ryse, then completely back peddle on that lol)

Ryse 2011 E3: this mess is what I was talking about (make sure and watch till the end)

In contrast, Ryse 2013:

I fully endorse using Kinect to enhance UI. And KI implementation is just the start. Looking forward to advancement of the tech when used like this. I even hear they planning on using Kinect to monitor your emotional responses and tailor Gameplay accordingly. Epic sauce

Better, Smarter, Games/Systems...Next Gen....cant wait.

That is developers playing up in their ass, nothing to do with Microsoft force feeding kinect to the world.

Which they have done and will continue to do by making it integral to the system.

I can't blame them because it is a killer feature and superior to both the Wii and PS3's implementation.

They should use it as a competitive edge.

You are correct in saying it needs to be used "intelligently".

For some games, that may mean all of the motion control stuff....like for Dance Central, UFC Trainer,  Your Shape Fitness Evolved (excellent, excellent game), Kung Fu High Impact, Kinectimals, Fighters Uncaged, etc..

For others, like Killer Instinct, it may mean recognizing you with the camera and auto configuring your controller to the appropriate button mappings. BOOM!

Or issuing voice commands to squad mates in Mass Effect.

All in all, I've been happy with Kinect 1.0 and can't wait to see what they do with Kinect 2.0

^^ Agreed, with almost everything you say.
And yes, intelligent use so far has been casual games, DDC etc...we only now starting to see proper use of the technology for hard core experiences. Which was not possible with Kinect 1.0. Kinect 2.0 opening the door to a lot of cool things, so looking forward to seeing what else men can come up with.

The thing I don't totally agree with is Kinect being superior to ps3/wii implementation.
That is really a point of view and how u utilize the technology.

Take Zelda Skyward Sword for example. Till this day, it's the best gameplay experience I've had on any game. The last stage and boss in that game was just epic! And it was all thank to Wii Motion Plus.
Nintendo's use of the technology in that game cannot be performed by Kinect. It just cant.
PS3 is capable of doing it, because they basically just rip off the wii and enhance that implementation. But they never got it practically viable into a game. And that's what it's all about, how you use the technology.
Granted Kinect 2.0 is capable of a wider variety of functions. But what Nintendo did with Skyward, was impressive.
Unless you actually play it you wont understand. But ill say this, after playing Skyward Sword with Wii Motion plus, I never want to play another Zelda game without motion controls again.......Yes, Nintendo was d first to get motion control for hard-core formula right. It was the truest expression of what they intended when they launched the wii.

Like I said, unless you play Zelda Skyward Sword you wont understand.

The Kinect is incapable of performing that function.
Real-Time 1-1 control of your sword. (and I don't mean no big set of waving).
The minute subtle reactions in your wrist, to be able to slash a certain way and direction.
Then the shaking motion up/down or side/side for special moves.
Then nun-chuck controls shield. The swordplay in that game was just amazing.
You block an attack by literally shruging your left wrist forward quickly.

The immersion and responsiveness was epic.
Only the PS3 Move Controller is capable of reproducing that. The Kinect is technologically incapable of doing it.
I don't know if the Kinect 2 camera is advance enough to detect such subtle motion in your hand. But even if it was, the xbox 360 controller is not conducive to working in conjunction with Kinect to perform such a function as split sword/sheidl real-time 1-1 motion control.

So again, to put it plain, NO d xbox cant do what the wii u did in Skyward Sword. Sorry.

I don't know if the Kinect 2 camera is advance enough to detect such subtle motion in your hand.

It is...and it can.

Doubting Thomas.

Kinect 2.0 iymc!

I've played Zelda and I do own a Wii and motion plus. Metroid too.

Great feel but I have faith that Kinect 2.0 will be able to surpass it.

You play skyward sword?

Cause all the other zeldas didn't get it like Skyward Sword did with Wii Motion Plus.

And I know for a fact Kinect 1.0 is incapable of such a function.

Kinect 2.0 needs to prove it's worth, but I honestly highly doubt it's capable of such a microscopic recording of wrist action that currently being detected by onboard motion/gyro hardware built into an actual controller.

And even being built-in like that, the Wii U's implementation is not perfect. PS3 technology would faster perfect it.

Kinect 2.0 has ALOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to prove before u can make that claim.

So for now it's prudent to say, "maybe it MITE be able too" saying it definitely can.....I think not lol.

I played the Zelda before. Looks like they really tighted up the controls a bit

Impressively, the new Kinect sensor can "measure the time it takes individual photons to rebound off an object or person to create unprecedented accuracy". Clever stuff. So clever in fact, that it's able to detect slight wrist rotations, and even the wrinkles in your clothes.

Still confident!

Yes that's it, and no, I not confident.

As you can see, even with the wii mote, it not perfect.

I really don't see how Kinect 2.0 camera being any better than wii.
That has to be a very very very very advance camera to pull that off.

Not sold, sorry lol.

Have to agree with Messiaah on this one.
After playing Skyward Sword, I DO NOT think that kinect can give the experience the Wii-Mote gives.
Even just from the standpoint of holding something in your hand and having rumble etc.

It's like BOSE telling you that you only need 2 speakers for full surround sound. While it does work, impressively at that, it isn't as convincing or as perfect as an actual 5 speaker set up. Only time will tell, but I'm not banking on microsoft on this one, they've let me down way too many times.

Well you have to understand, Microsoft doesn't have Zelda.

So luckily for them, they won't have to "win" over Zelda fans with a superior control mechanic for that game.

What I guarantee you they will do....is offer a superior motion controller for motion type games, period.

That's what I mean by saying I'm confident.

(full disclosure, I own about 10 kinect games and love them...especially the fitness ones..so a strong kinect bias exists in my household. The Wii hasn't been put on since. The 2.0 version is surely going to be hit here. lol)

Oh and messiaah, if you doubting a camera can have the level of detail required to read finger and wrist gestures.....watch what this $70 camera setup is doing. A precursor to Kinect 2.0 iymc.

Faith in technology: restored
