Well, I'm happy to eat my words regarding Nvidia and their pricing.  The 770 is now at 330 US.  Epic price for those considering SLI.

...but have you SEEN the new R9 290!?  :awesome:

I am thoroughly impressed.
This GPU meets and/or beats the GTX 780 for 100 US less.

Personally, I prefer Nvidia right now for driver stability and feature set (adaptive V-Sync, PhysX, Shadow Play, etc)
but its hard to ignore this price/performance monster.

GG AMD.  Again.  :icon_thumleft:

Driver stability? I've been having 0 problems with my new GPU. Everything runs smoothly. Crashes were just because BF4 isn't completely stable yet.

No complaints sir. =p

Don't worry, I wasn't suggesting that AMD didn't have stable drivers, :)
but the fact they had to issue a beta driver for BF4 is (a bit) worrying.  Not everyone would have had problems.

...and then I took a look at the R9 290 power consumption figures.

YIKES!!!  :ko:

There's always a trade-off eh...but I suspect the buyers of these cards either don't have or don't care about the TTEC bill.

AMD caught cheating with R9

http://techreport.com/news/25609/updated-retail-radeon-r9-290x-cards-may-be-slower-than-press-samples

Long story short, they (AMD) gave the press cherry picked samples that performed higher (at great temperatures) but regular retail units are actually running quite a bit slower.

Sad, sad, sad. Amd at it again.... :shakehead:

from the toms articleit could be fixed by upgrading the cooler so technically if u get a thrid party like gigabyte with their 3 fan overkill hsf the cards will act more consistently

Redemption, perhaps?  :laughing7:

It sucks that it isn't retroactive though.  AMD's biggest fans were the early adopters.
