Polios Snake Eater takes place in the 60's Hideo Kojima said so.Its way before Solid Snake or any of the other clones were concieved.So its not a MG remake.

Besides Big Boss was in his prime in the 1960's and served in the vietnam war as a member of the L.R.R.P unit. (Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol). These were the guys responsible for staying hidden behind enemy lines sending back intel.Sneaking was a way of survival.

And one more thing Big Boss is missing an eye his right eye to be precise.

Now go watch the snake eater trailer .
Guess what the lead character also seems to be missing his right eye at the end of it.

it was one of the MG(not any solid), it's been atleast 2 yrs since i played them so i can't remember which one, the point was that snake is in Zanzibar in Snake Eater, and it must be a remake therefore since it's in the past. It may be Outer heaven but i doubt cuz i didin't see grey fox in any clips
it must be MG2, then but any real Metal Gear would recognize Zanzibar when he sees it. Maybe you are'nt the metal gear fan i thought you were.

he play solid by me, he beat the ten vr mission but not even time attack mode. He tried the real thing but didn't even get on the elevator

Now stop talking out ur @$$ I base my replies on hard evidence.None of the clones were born in the 1960's and none of the previous metal gear games took place in the 60's either.

Cool. Grey Fox was the coolest and deserves a game of his own.I can't wait until Twin Snakes is released.

if snake eater is in the 60s then who are you playing as since the clones weren't made as yet
big boss, but i don't see the signature eyepatch but that though mean nothing since  he doh have to get it as yet
someone fill me in i doh know much about the upcoming snake eater i just know about the ones before

The E3 trailer has him missing his right eye.Not the new Tokyo gameshow2k3 trailer.

Yes its Big Boss he lost his eye in combat not before.Although a FAQ I read recently states that he lost his eye in the 80's however I'm not certain of this.But based on the simple fact that none of the clones were born in the 60's it can only be Big Boss.

There have been no hints at the actual storyline.

All we know at this point is that

Hideo Kojima wanted the main character to be referred to as "Snake".

Its obvious that it isnt the "Solid Snake" so I'm assuming that "Snake" was one of Big Boss' early codenames.

The game takes place during the 1960's cold war era.The enemy soldiers are carrying AK rifles and wearing balaclava over their faces.Hinting that they're Soviet troops.

There are no jungles in the Soviet Union so I'm assuming the game takes place in the jungles of south east asia or probably North Vietnam.

So far I've identified the Mossberg shotgun
the M16 assault rifle
the colt 45 side arm
AK47
and a smoke grenade I cant identify  probably an M18 or AN/M8 .
All weapons in service during Vietnam.

As for the infrared goggles the US government gave special operations groups prototypes of early night vision and infrared gear for field testing.
