God, another who dreadder thread...but suprisingly, thanks to Vinon and Imperial X and some others, we actually got some serious replies.

I'll throw in my two cents: it was said in the Fatal Fury movie Legend of the hungry Wolf

According to Master Tung, Andy is like a tree, strong and unmoving, while Terry is like a wolf, hungry and agile....because Terry loves fighting because he is hungry for skill, not hungry for power, that's why he will be the more talented brother.

hmm i wassss gonnaa run in here pelting my usual TERRY IS THE KEN OF SNK( AKA THE SERIOUS BATTY MAN) cause andy is my fave of the two.
but yall actually put dong some good talk for de andy vs terry thing, i still like andy more buh i could understand why he may be considered better in some regards. doesnt stop terry from being a total bamcy sniffer doh.

now unto the real issue.
ken masters and RYU.

everyone knows that ryu has not reached his full potential, and hasnt really tapped into it, while ken has his wildness and his so called natural ability.

but as someone has stated, ryu in his imperfection is still more powerful than ken is.

it would be reckless to say something like if ryu was usin his full potential he would be totally more powerful.
THe reason for this, and the reason why ryu travels, why ryu fights, is because he is imperfect because his quest for attaining that ultimate level is unatainable

Ryu represents unlimited potential, the ability to continously expand.

Ken not only lacks the desire to improve , ken lacks the capacity to understand that your potential is supposed to be limitless.

Ken.... ken is there for a purpose, to oppose and balance ryu's deliberate and progressive pace.

I dont think that ken neccesarily represents that ken ki- that fighting spirit- that terry is possesed of.

HE does represnt though the flip side of ryu's pent up potential, he represents the sometimes explosive nature of ability.

But the stars that burn the brightest, also die the fastest.

He is simply not Ryu's equal.

I mean honestly. THat word, that name , RYU just evokes images of grandeur and power. That man represents the never ending struggle to reach that one step further.

just to correct imperial X. remember that SF3, SF2 and SFA are different timelines. ryu has yet to use his full potential. the charater evil ryu is just a taste of how powerful he can be. like crix sad ken and ryu are opposites, ying yang. pride and humilty, talent vs ability. like i said also ryu hardly ever uses his full potential its very hard for him to. the hadou is a killing style and the more he trains the closer he gets to the limits of passivism that the style permits. it is said that the evil hadou awoke in him allowing him to beat sagat (and splitting his chest) thus affecting him throughout the Alpha series. its believe because of this he hold back because of fear of going to far to win. ken will never have this problem cause he doesnt train as hard and gets better through fights. he improves in fighting but never in his potential. you know its sad that we are trying to analyse something that Capcom just threw together without any heart or soul but we try never the less.

Lol. Sagat is my main character because of his scar. It represents that which is better overcoming your will. It is a mark that will ensure that one strives to become better, much like myself. Hell, if you played me in any SF game, Ken vs Ryu, I'm pretty sure you'd get beaten into senselessness. lol
