yea,i trying to strengthen my arms,i have a nice routine going so far.in just 2 weeks,my strength increased 5 fold.i dunno the names of the moves,but i'll get  the names and post.the key to strength training is to use light weights and lots of reps.lataz

you sure horse das for tone..... If yuh want to buff up take HEAVY weights and do small sets and work up but to tone up like get serious lines and shizzle go to yuh cardio and as he say real reps wit light weights and cardio along with alot of water das for d veins in yuh arm and all kinda ting but to get BIG and STRONG do like sets of ten but yuh hadda feel d burn from beginnin to end. Yuh cyah breeze through until d last set. but if yuh try and real push yuhself liek 500 reps and ting yuh muscle does tone up but actually shrink das why you get size then tone

what gyms do you all go to?
and what is your routine like?

i go to long circular club gym

one thing you will notice is that before your muscles start to get buff from the heavy weights they will tone first
so when u do heavy weights don't be alarmed if at first u get smaller

and if you want to get smaller, as sagat says light wieghts and plenty reps is the key
however my trainer makes me do heavy weight on the same reps. that way u get tone and cardio the same time.

sagat have not seen u in the gym in a while, have u left or switched gyms? or still in mine?

I go to the Fitness Range gym to get my workouts done.
Just your basic Cycling for a Cardiovascular warm-up, followed by Ab Crunches, Weight lifting, Knee Presses, Tricep and Bicep workouts, Calf Presses...just the basics, really.
I do 10 reps, in 4 sets for each exercise.
Unless it's an exercise that I like, in which case I do 15 reps, in 4 or 5 sets.

...and the ladies love me.

I Go to Muscle fitness Gym in chaguanas(Formerly Known as Obryan's) not as fancy as yall lon circular Finatics but It gets the job done. BTW dose "The beast" train at long circular. I passed through the other day and as i was passing the locker room i was acosted by this big imposeing figure, and believe me I aint small. I'm over 200 at 11% BF and 6 feet but this guy was hugh huger than me and towering over me. My taill was between my legs so i didn't get a look at his face but when i told one of my partners he said it might have been beast since he trains there.

anyway I might be entering in a BB competition soon. II was planing to go this June but because of starting back shcool my training has been slowed so insteadI'll be doing it either next year or at the end of the year it might be soon One you hear the name'Cleon Maurice Pierre' It'll be me. I plan to dominate just as I do in teken and other games.

About high reps, they are a waste of time, unless you are a woman worried about putting on too much muscle and even for  them if they do it it will hinder their progress. I currently use a program called max-ot that is currently available on the net. It's excelent and Ive seen great results from it and would recomend it to anyone. It goes through all the training principles and motivation and intensity, evrything you can thing of. If your a girl and worried about putting on too much muscle, don't. The truth about it is that girls don't produce enough testosterone to build extreem muscle so no matter how hard you train you won't loose your womanly figure, unless your,  on steroids. You could infact the the opposite and put on some womanly fat and muscle tone in the right areas the would inhance your figure. I know alot of girl who train heave and have great figures. The only place girls migh put on size is on the hips and thighs which will further enhance the tiney waist and bigh behind figure the we men love :-)

That just the thing, it have too much bachannal and oman to distrac meh from mih training. I go be lookin to pips and ole talk left right and centre. Which is why i sort of prefer my gym. Altho it has its share, I know how to get around and keep to muself when needed.

i did legs and upped my weights again
from 270lbs to 360lbs

What exercise is it that you do 360 on. Is it squat or legpress.

I wanna be a strong man too.

yuh gonnna have to share some of those training tips and diet / supplements to take.

The gyms around me cost an arm and a leg. $375 a month, plus I go have to pay for wifey. That is lotto money.

Home regimen is a plan? Maybe if I could get a padner to train with. Lawd @ time too.

Someone should make a strong man pill....one dose and is muscles iymc.

I'd never condone a quick pill. It'd take all the fun out of it for me. :smile:. I hear you on the wifey part but i think it would be a good venture getting her involved. The only problem I might have with it is if she wants to talk too much while i'm training, u know how women are. Anyway for supplementation the best things for beginers are a multivatimen (centrum Performance, Animal Pack), Creatine, Noni juice, Protien shake (Whey) and Glutamine.

anyways...here's d routine:

You doing it in this order
Standing Press
Front Raise
Side Laterals
Bent Over Side Laterals
Upright Rows
Barbell Curls

NO STOPPING!
for starters,use lighter weights and do about 3 sets of ten of each exercise.After about 2 weeks,increase the number of sets to 5(after 5 it has no effect).Then after about 2 more weeks of that,increase the weights and then u can keep alternating.

it is in long circular mall
and if u in a group rate like i am with uwi it is $175

and bryan master to your question it was on the leg press machine the most i can sqaut is rob 90-100sumthing lbs
not as much as leg press.....
i not that strong yet :)

Dread  dem Gym expensive boy, then again I from south so $175 does it for me, at Muscle Connection. Big, have more than enough equip, aerobics for dem gyul, entire top floor of carlton centre for those who know where that is. As for routines....

Damn i've been lazy lately, however I disagree about the whole high reps thing, if u want bulk, high reps is not for u, if u want to tone it is, there is not $hit about being a woman watching ur tone, dread I am over 200lbs and I am 5' 9" and most ppl can't guess that cause I don't look near that heavy, dread for ppl who can gain weight easily like myself both in terms of fat and muscle CARDIO is a must no matter what workout u find on the NET.

As for workout wise, when I used to go bout 3 mnths ago it was EAch muscle group a day, so Legs, Chest, Back, shouilders and maybe abother legs, workouts as follows:

Legs:
Leg extension warmup, 4 sets of 12-10 @ 80lbs and up to 120 depending on machine

Squat for 4 sets varying weight as follows, 90lbs (olympic bar i.e. 45lbs in itself) 1st set, 2nd 140lbs, 3rd 160lbs, 4th 180lbs, dropping no less than 8 reps MINIMUM

Seated calf raise: 5 sets, 1st 60lbs, 2nd 90lbs, 3rd 110lbs, 4th 125lbs, 5th 125lbs with a 15 rep MINIMUM

Leg PRess on a 60 degree machine (machine weight 45lbs min) warm up with
1st 180lbs 20rep warmup
2nd 270 lbs 18 reps
3rd 360lbs 15reps
4th 450lbs 10-12reps
5th 500lbs 8-10reps

Leg Curls: 4 sets 10-15 reps each at 60lbs, 60lbs. 50lbs, 40lbs

Standing calf raise: 3-4 sets of 15-25 starting at 90lbs going up to 110

Used to go gym during the day and swim in the night, St. Michael Pool 50laps in 40mins

since this was so long I will not go into the other parts of my routine, and if yuh think I lie come south and ask the instructors.
