sup Draael.

what connection you using to run that? DSL?

and you need to get yourself hooked up with a dynamic dns service.

it is free and will save you the trouble of updating the ip to the masses.

yes, it is easy to do and free.

Once you have registered, be sure to get the Dynamic Update Client

http://www.no-ip.com/client/ducsetup.exe

install it and configure it with the account. That little app will continuosly update the world with your IP address so long as the server is running. Pretty neat and awesome for hosting servers on TSTT dsl.

without DSL, I won't recommend playing any online FPS games.

They are typically very demanding on bandwidth. Dial up just won't be up to the task without some super tweakage and special compensation server side. (Quake 3 insta unlagged, Ut2004)

It will work, just not well. Expect lag and what we commonly call "matrix".

Men warpin all over de place. lol

If you on dial up, best you run into the nearest GL for some FPS multiplayer action. Less frustration iymc.

Love the idea...however I would have to aquire the original version of UO in order to participate

Colddraft, if u consern about the CDKey Error, the server is "fixed" so there would be no CDKEY in use errors.
Its always good to have the original game ne way. But its ur choice.

256k up is very narrow for this purpose but it won't hurt to try.

Anything more than 4 players and you expect some lag. At the least the infrastructure would be in place on our side for when greater bandwidth presents itself.

Like with the greendot server arrangement.

Im glad these view are being expressed. Baego for your optimism, it sure wont hurt to try. Its like my first real online server im setting up. I had five ppl join in before and it ran smoothly for about 5 maps straight, but it did start doing "matrix" mode shortly after. I have a bandwidth monitor that shows it had enough to support. Im willing if you all are.
So how bout it?
