Counter strike has never been better , on the source engine the physics and graphics upgrade has really given a new dimension to gameplay, you can see shadows around corners, relfections in the water , and hear bottles that someone sets rolling .
The only complaint i have is that it is ALOT easier than CS 1.6 , the weapons are alot more accurate than before, allowing n00bs who spray their weapons in your direction the ability to actually kill you, and the bots included in the version 1.0 are HORRIBLY stupid .

how about someone host a CS: source server ? throw away that quake server that is much too laggy to get a proper rocket arena game , even with DSL , the client is only 465 mbs and it runs better on older machines than Halo or COD .

PR0wl is running a server at nights , ask Prowl for the software , he has the disk with the correct version i burnt for him ( 1.0 , emporio hax) . This game is 100 times what SOF2 can offer , and alot better for plain killing than COD or Quake , if you can get an 'escape' map. Pr0wl the raven shield addict even likes it , whereas he hates Sof2 , HAlo, unreal and the older CS .
Sof2 by itself is not bad, but what disgusts me is that it has been around so long that people now know alot of cheats for it , and can find holes in walls where they can snipe through without being seen !
Weapons like the OICW are overpowered , man can snipe you with grenades ! and in the deathmatch mode the spawning scheme is the worst i'v ever seen , you always spawn in the middle of a battle and die or you spawn in the middle of nowhere and loose precious seconds running back to the battle , most other deathmatch games spawn you in a battle, and give you invurnarability to prevent spawn killing .

you playing SOF with the wrong men.

When we run it in the barn, you don't spawn.

It is elimination style. Once you're dead...you're dead.

Yes, there are still some "tricks" like crouching and leaning to the side which totally messes up the hit detection and those can be frustrating.

Still, no game is perfect but SOF2 in the barn is a hell of a lot of fun. Any other mode is just being uncivilized. lol

That said, it has had it's day in the sun and it time other games rise to the top but let that be the case. Other games must RISE to the top. If they aren't more fun than SOF then we should not forcibly replace it.

my whole clan hates SOF2 with a vengeance.. hear what, i'll bring CS: source on a CD sometime , announce a CS : source tourney against the Black Scoprions a week later ... people wil start to practise and begin to love it... and look down on SOF2 .

Boy source is the real deal once you go source you dont go back, good to see we finally making the move. Unfortuantely there are few GLs that can actually support Source at decent frame rates due to its high requirements.

SOF II was fun source is serious warfare.

Lace them with the game, then beat dey mc in a tourney, sit back and watch the fireworks. lol

If that doesn't work, not much else will.

We have been doing that for ages with various games at various GLs. (Counter Strike included)

Some for one reason or another, just never gain momentum even after that hype but that won't stop us from trying.

Do you guys know of any places that got Source playing actively?
Im from Trincity area, I dont think VZ can support it at decent frame rates(atleast i think thats what happnes whenthe game jerks)...not to mention VZ prices are understandably high.

Some friends told me about one in chagunas that they stop by in when going to lessons, but thats so far... I also heard that there is one near SAC when i go for lessons during the august that could be a possibility. Can you all put some names to these and suggest others? Maybe a hint into what specs the machines got?

CG... and J/va... wonder what specs they got. Is there a section where I can get information about these "gaming locations" as you all call them? Can they play CS Source? correction do they play source? From these forums it looks like ppl dont play much CS Source or CS as a matter of fact.

The game Ive seen most ppl rave about is SOF2, where is the international competition in that... I play CS Source vs bots and sometimes online (dialup), CS is like really huge through out the world. I guess so many are used to SOF2 and as this thread pointed out, unless the masses decided to move Trinidads main FPS is going to remain sof2.

I will find a cafe/ppl that play source, if not ill just hypnotize you all into playing.

yeah, like Osiris said, online is probably your best bet for CS Source.

It is a bit of a moving target with updates and steam. If you don't have a steam account it could be interesting keeping on top of things.

Trini and his clan are getting into it. You could probably join up with them when they are heading down to sweat by a GL in Arima/Trincity and see how your skillz fare against the new generation of replacement killers.

I do have an original copy of HL2 and thus CS Source. Im on dialup for the while until tstt decides to grace me by installing my dsl. I already got the specs of the Trincity cafe and unfortunately I wouldnt go there due to their understandably high rate and of couse the machine specs. This Arima location which im sure my parents wouldnt permit to go is named Emanutech? are their specs up to par with the Source engine? If so please list em.

Trini where are you from? I checked your site trinigamer s.com awesome stuff, I didnt know your clan was so into CS Source and Frozen Throne!!! are you even local? your accomplishments have me in shock. Emanutech won't handle CS source any better than virtual zone, Etech has only 256 RAM and an athlon 1600-2000 , and geforce 4s/5200s , Virtual zone has 512 , athlon 3200s and the same video cards ....
CS source will play on them at a fairly good frame rate but on lower settings, and occasionally freeze .

ITs really the videocards that are hindering performance. I was lead to believe that the following were the specs from VZ

2.0 Ghz
256 DDR Ram
40Gig HD
GeForce FX5200 128 MB Vids

Is that an AMD chip? if so its actual throughput would be greater than 2.0GHz
