PS3 Unveiling Before E3

Sony Computer Entertainment America confirmed to GameSpot that a separate event will be held to lift the curtain on the PS3. Up until now, SCEA has said E3 would be the time and place, but they apparently have changed their minds. No further details were offered except that it will not use the upcoming GDC to make the announcement.

Ummm. I will never figure that company out. People call Nintendo the unorthodox but Sony is the one that makes the confusing moves. Why would they unveil their product before E3, if it's publicity they want then E3 is most definitely the place to get it as it is the biggest gaming convention around. Why would they want to show their hand to the competiton first?

Unless they plan on unveling the machine in another aspect as the "all-in-one" machine where to call it a straight gaming machine would not be appropriate.

Remember no publicity is bad publicity. Prolly just gonna showcase the technology, then at E3 actual working games.

Aha, E3 is a three day conference, but there is a 4th day, well a day before E3 actually is open to the public. It's the conference day that only the press is allowed into, Sony can be unveiling the PS3 then and that story would be true. Some how i feel it will be on this day.
