ATI has released the latest Catalyst drivers for Radeon videocards, v5.2. According to the release notes, there are Far Cry and 3DMark05 performance improvements (though only on the X800 series), and some Serious Sam & Sims 2 issues have been fixed.

yippeeeeeeee now my 9800pro will run 0.000000000001% faster, why do they torment us 9800 users

I agree there about the 9800Pro users (being one) and to be honest 5.1 was CRASHING my machine, damn games were locking up for 10-20secs, the damn computer froze on me altogether once. It just DID NOT work properly. Now I know that my be some hardware imcompatibility with some other part (most likely my tv tuner) HOWEVER I don't expect that I should have to lose anything else in my system that works fine on 4.12 JUST to install 5.1. Hence I hope 5.2 does NOT do the same thing otherwise GRANDFIREBALL no jutsu for dem catalyst drivers. Next time I will proly go BACK to Nvidia, at least they can write drivers that don't take up 28MB as an installation file.
