Gamcube Overheats!!!!...thats either a lie or I seem to play the good cubes

I am involved with a arcade here in JA and trust me the cube can take a beating....there are times when as we open gameslike SSBM, MarioKart and recently RE4 are put in from morning and run straight through till closing time

the PS2 2-3 hours and we start to fret cuz it starts to load slow (slower than usual) and start puffing in games Like SC2 and deadly alliance

Xbox i can see with as our games are on the hardrive with barely n e loading and stuff

poit?

the cube aint wimpy and i have never had a overheating prob with my cube over the years

the ONLY problem with the GCN is the black and purple ones have damaged lenses. Thats why the platinum cube is the best bet. I have personally had this problem and changed my cube.

(steups)
Let me guess. Your arcade is one of the few exceptions without air-conditioning or fans, right?
Yee gads.

The point is, ALL systems overheat. Every single one of them. As long as there is a CD spinning device and a laser eye, expect the system to burn.
The reason I knack the Gamecube is because it tends to heat faster that the other systems. A good few people have had the Gamecube freeze sometimes during the loading screens, and I believe that X-play did a segment on overheating systems at one time (though I can't be hard-pressed to find it right now).
There? You happy now?

Shivadee, good points, all around, though you seem to be saying what has already been said about the Revolution. Nintendo owns 10%, they appeal to kids, they rawk in Zelda and Metroid, etc, etc.

....and for the last time...(inhales)

WE NEVER SAID WE HATED NINTENDO

Geez. Don't you guys read?
That's the third time that I've said that.
Next guy to come here and say that this thread is chock full of Nintendo haters wins the Darwin Award.

True nintendo is not going anywhere , games do sell the hardware , look at the PS2 , the weakest console out there, yet people still buy it , not because of its specs, but because of all its games ,  console manufacterers should start shying away from Uber power , and more towards affordability ,  developing games to take advantage of a high powered console costs millions  , which is why many games retail for 50 US + per copy .
I myself believe nintendo will make a comeback this round , if they start to target the mainstream teenager/adult market  , they did so in the days of the Snes ( there alot of Pr0n snes games / bloody games ) and they can do so again .

alot of people like to bring up the 64 vs ps war and claim sony superiority.

Hmm, most people dont even know the details of the war but accept the propoganda whole sale.

Sony sold more systems yes.
Sony produced more titles yes.

Nintendo on the other hand, managed to produce or retain about 90% of the "top" games of the time.
If yall go back to that era and look thru the games, yu will realise that playstation had bout 4 or 5 game of the months and game of the years. in particular, final fantasy 7 and metal gear.

On the other hand, nintendo consistently produced quality games which of course held game of the year and game of the month and so forth.

This honestly is the reason for my bias against sony. THey have a tendency of mass producing games to pull the wool of gamers eyes. They seldom (if ever in my opinion) create hi quality games.

And in the case of cross platform releases.
What ever they can do, nintendo and microsoft does better.

And all that talk bout nintendo not having online support buh playstation does..

HOW MANY OF YU HAVE EVER ACTUALLY PLAYED ONLINE WITH PLAYSTATION???
OR ACTUALLY KNOW ANYONE THAT WASTE THEIR TIME USING PLAYSTION ONLINE????
NOOO ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

xbox live completly rules i totally agree with that!!

so in the online war, microsoft wins.

in the case of nintendo not having it an playstation having it, is best playstation didnt
cause is ah pack ah ballz an not worth the time.
So no big loss dere for nintendo.
IF YU WANT ONLINE CONSOLE PLAY
YU WILL BUY AN XBOX! OR 360!

sony managed to pull away nintendos 3rd party supporters with gobs of cash. kudos to you sony nice play *clap clap*

Buh if ms was in de fray at that time, then playstation would have had no 3rd party, and nintendo would still have their strongggggg in house games.

I mean, do yall remember sony's attempts at creating their own games????
TUMBA!!
FLIKKIN TUMBA!!
OMG WTF!!

I could name at least 14 people who use PS2 online.  15 if you count shivadee lol.

What was your point on that again?

Um....Crixx?
The reason that nobody in Trinidad plays PS2 online is because WE DON'T HAVE BROADBAND.

You would not believe how many fan boys there are of this system....I mean damn! So nintendo will still sell no matter what. What are you talking about there is third party support........there's um Resident evil 4....wait never mind thats on the ps2......um what about ddr mario mix.....oh wait thats just a rip off.......um...um ok i give up. if there is any it is just to little. As a result of such little support, they will make the titles for themselves and just stick mario and them in the game. I mean look at Mario baseball and tennis and ddr....what next CRICKET! Yeah boy that go be real bad! 6_6 Even the guy at E3 could not name many third party supporters. But do not get me wrong i enjoy the games but they just need the 3rd party support thats all!

Sorry to edit again. The Resident Evil 4 demo i played at E3 doh look as good as the GCN version. The "guy" at E3 didnt need to name 3rd party. Nintendo does not DEPEND on 3rd party support.......like SONY and MS. And YES it have real fanboys for nintendo. I had to saturate mihself with them in the Zelda line for 3 hours

I've seen the video and I have to say conventional is OUT, THIS IS THE NEW WAVE... (doh quote me on that). The applications are endless... this has such *coughs* ehem... adult possibilities as well as it would 'revolutionize' the FPS on a console... the damn controller can tell distance... anyways heres some more specs... or at least speculated specs:
Quote
Revolution specs outed

Nintendo's next laid out

By Charlie Demerjian: Sunday 25 September 2005, 09:48
NINTENDO HAS KEPT QUIET on the specs for its upcoming Revolution console.

But, thanks to a link by a reader, it appears the specs have been outed in the G4 forums.

Scroll down to post by Han_Solo that starts out with 'WHAOHH!!!!!!!!!', it starts in the middle. .

The short story, in case the post disappears, is that Revolution is a 2.5GHz PPC with 256K L1 and 1MB of L2. It supports two threads so it is quite a conventional chip. The GPU is an ATI RN520, and Han explains that the N is for Nintendo, so I guess it is modified a bit. It will run at 600MHz and come with 256MB of graphics RAM. The system itself has 512MB of the 1T-SRAM that Nintendo seems to like so much, it runs at 700MHz. He also says it has not decided on HD support, but I can't see how not.

The more interesting bit is it has a PPU. We wonder if it is an Ageia one, or a custom part. Either way it has 32MB of RAM. This could make a huge difference in the console wars, if true, because it has the potential to severely increase the realism of Nintendo games while vastly lowering CPU usage.

There is a more there, go over, take a look. It may not be a revolution, but Revolution certainly is in the game. Again, if this is all true that is.

no doubt, no doubt.

I can't wait for this to drop.

There is always that number of gamers complaining about lack of innovation in the industry and damn if this doesn't shut them up.

I mean, not that I'm against innovation but look at the sport scene. Football aka soccer hasn't changed in ages and its the number one sport in the world.

Yet everytime a new FPS game comes out we expect it to break the mould and raise the bar. Same goes for every genre. Very demanding bunch, us gamers.

At least Nintendo seems to be up to that challenge and then some! They've given developers one helluva tool set.
