These are some confessions of mine as someone who considers himself to be a gamer. If anyone has any to share, feel free.

1. I have not finished Super Mario Bros. 1, 2 or 3.
2. I have not played Legend of Zelda 1 or 2.
3. I have not finished Half-Life.
4. I have not played Half-Life 2.
5. I have not played Halo or Halo 2 multiplayer.
6. I have not played any Mega Man games.
7. I have not played Starcraft multiplayer.
8. I have not played Counter-Strike.
9. I have not played any Battlefield games.
10. I have not played DOTA.
11. I am currently playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the first time.

1 might argue with all those I have nots, this thread should be called 'confessions of a would be gamer' but hey i'll leave it be... you haven't finished ANY NES mario? SHAME... not played the original Zeldas... double shame... you have not played Starcraft multiplayer? what rock have you been living under?

Ha, well I guess I am a would be gamer then. I think I am a qualified to be a gamer, though. I mean, I have owned an Atari 2600, NES, SNES, N64, PS, Dreamcast, Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, GB, GB Color, GBA SP, and a PC since my first 486. I just wanted to list some (notable) things I have not accomplished in my gaming life. I would think some of us gamers have a few things we have not done that might seem strange to others. Let me clarify a few things. I got my NES in 1991. Yes, the same year the SNES came out. I got the SNES the same year also. My parents did not feel the need to buy the NES since I had my Atari 2600 but eventually my mom got a used one from a friend. She surprised me by buying the SNES when it came out. So, I had maybe a few months of playing with the NES before getting the SNES. That should explain the NES items. As for Starcraft ... I played it for the first time about 3 years ago. That may seem like blasphemy to some but I guess it is because I didn't know any friends who were into it. I finally gave it a try and enjoyed it a lot. I played through the single player and Brood War also. I have not played multiplayer mostly because I don't know anyone who plays it. Also, given the amount of games I have bought and have not played, I tend not to play much multiplayer games unless it is with some friends who want to play them. That way I can just play more games. The funny thing is that if you ask any person who knows me, even just a little bit, the first thing they will tell you is that I am a gamer and always playing some game or the other. I hope this clears up some things. Actually, I was considering calling the topic "Confessions of a so-called gamer". For those who would still consider me a would-be or so-called gamer, I think you should check out the Name That Game thread in PC Gaming and try to guess the pic I posted.

Ok i've reviewed your portfolio of systems and i've changed the name back... however yuh NEED to address those issues LOL. Besides that I was just pulling your leg. I would suggest in the LEAST, sweating a megaman, I mean come on, they had megaman HANDHELDS.. you remember those little 2 button and a direction pad with a casio watch lcd gameplay?

Yeh, I could tell you were just pulling my leg. It is interesting, though, how different people would classify a gamer. Some of us started way back when but there are some who have a PS2 as their first console. I actually had one of those handhelds, just not Mega Man (check out the Back in the Day thread). If it is any consolation, I did play as Mega Man in Marvel vs Capcom 2 for Dreamcast. Maybe one of these days, I go pull up one of them Mega Man roms I have and actually play it. I would have to use a PS2 or N64 controller (with my adapter) instead of the original NES controller but that is small ting.

(1) i never finished any zelda games until minish cap
(2) i never had any of the old consoles or handhelds

im more of a new age gamers...but i've never played those really old games b4

One more confession ... I borrowed a cousin's PlayStation when I only had a N64. He played mostly N64 games and had the PS pack up. He only had a couple of PS games so I decided to rent one. It was called Gran Turismo 2. It was love at first sight. I played non stop for 2 days. When it was time to return it, I decided that the game was so good that I went to a store and bought a brand new copy (with a memory card of course). I played some more for a couple days. Then, I got the bad news. My aunt wanted me to return the PlayStation. So, I did the only thing any self-respecting gamer would do ... I immediately bought a brand new PlayStation.

I have not played videogames seriously since i stopped sweating on a regular basis...a bot killed me in UT2004 the other day...A FREAKIN BOT

- There are very few games out nowadays that get my attention enough to finish them. They start off great then..meh. The most recent ones that drew my attention for sometime were
1) Shadow of the Colossus
2)God of War
3) Elder Scrolls 4
4) Wow (

)

I make an effort to play as much games as possible to get a feel of everything. Prey didnt impress me for long, neither did FEAR, neither did HL 2, neither did CS Source which i find to be very dated, neither did BF 2 (but i havent given BF2 a real chance yet so that could change- it is such a pain in the @ss to connet to the servers)
And the only reason i buying a 360 dis week is because i cant connect to Redlum on his XBOX because XBOX to 360 connections not working

reall sh!t...but i hadda buy the damn console sometime. plus here you can always trade in your old system.....so blah

MY LIST
`1- Im playin FF7 for the first time now
2- Havent playn a game without cheats or trainers (but after ive beaten it)
3- Sprained my wrist playin warcraft 3
4- I play flash games online

Ok, so I finish Ocarina of Time on Friday night/Saturday morning around 3:30. Ganon has to be one of the baddest bosses I ever see in a game yes. De mudda @$$ just refuse to die. Yeh, so I have to put the game down as one of the best ever just like most people would.

Played all finalfantasy games except ff11
Finished all but the first one (fell asleep halfway)
Love RPG's ps2 pc doesnt matter
new school streetfighter Alpha 1,2,3 Capcom vs Snk 1,2
FPS freak but dont get the zeal to go multiplayer unless playing against my friends
you must play zelda, mario, megaman, dem games is a must

right now trying to beat god of war on god mode reach final battle against Ares but the part where you protect your family pisses me off.

heres's some "confessions"
1. I ..."once" had a fetish for Cammy and Chun Li...simuntaneously...(brrr)
2. I never truly finish Tetris...yes the shame!
3. I never beat StarCraft or Warcraft 2...yes the shame part 2
4. I also had a fetish for regina (from Dino Crisis)

come to think of it I had a fetish for basically most of the chicks in video games....amazing...

5. Finally I never finished the first Super Mario (NES) it was a difficult game.

I have bought every gaming system I've ever owned (with the exception of the Intellivision, Intellivision II, and Pong) to play a "cooler version" of Madden.

I defected to the 2K series when I got my DC and NFL 2K and stayed with it till ESPN NFL 2K5 for Xbox. Now, though, I guess there is only Madden. Hmm ... As to the PS2 RIP ... Man, FFXII eh even come out yet, God of War 2, and lots more still to come. For me, is definitely still alive.
