Yeah I don't wanna see kakashi go out like that, although if he has to fall to an enemy might as well be pein.... and yes pein is op+++++++++++++++++

What I DON'T want to see however is Kakashi stopping the nail using pein's ability via his haxor sharingan... that would kill it... It could be a dotan bushin, or perhaps he used the mangekyou, which would mean next is bye bye god realm pein. That body is gosu with those abilities, but won't do him much good if all the space around him are sucked into nothingness...

My first thought as to how he gonna get out of that situation was to use the mangekyou and send the nail to the next dimension, but rethinking that now cuz of the fact that he said he only had about half of his chakra left. fingers crossed tho.

From what I've heard from someone who reads japanese, and this might just as well be very little, the literal translation of that last line of the manga was "a hero falls" or something to that effect.

The translation on Narutofan uses "a hero falls" as well.
With "Kakashi leaves one last thing behind" at the very bottom.

I wonder if maybe Pain didn't kill him with the nail. He wanted to show him true pain, maybe he's going to make him suffer? Long enough for Gai or something to show up?

HIGHLY doubtful. Kishi isn't going to kill potential, and the younger generation is just that, potential.
