Several months ago, someone at GATT HQ told me that Spidey's idea was stolen.
In other words. Stan Lee didn't come up with the character it was Jack Kirby.
Is this true. If it is it sucks @SS, especially since he died pennyless and so-on

kirby didnt make spiderman, and stan didnt steal the idea either

stan came up with the idea, and kirby pencilled for his first appearance, he then went on to pencil and write for every issue of spidey for a while (omfg i hate that i know this grrr)

That's the same thing that I grew up to knowing...it's just weird that the GATTer would say such a blasphemous thing. Stan Lee is a boss.

Well there have bene lots of stories of Stand Lee taking Kirbies ideas etc. But its a hard debate.

2 of us in a room brainstorming, one man drawing and the other wiritng. Whose to say who made it. Kirby was just a hard worker, drawing some impressive amount of pages a day. Stan Lee was the mouthman doing what writers would do.
