Are handhelds overtaking home consoles in popularity?

I'm actually quite curious about this. seems that he consoles got pricey, and people started buying older consoles more, and handhelds.

160,000+ ds sold, and another 30,000+ psp. in ONE week. has this always been the case? frankly, this proportion is news to me, probably because I rarely pay attention to it. I also suggest you not pay attention to the gamespot comments. There's no war really, only games you want to play ;)
