I think it's about time the 360 owners on GATT start a regular online sweatage. Effectively, i'd like to put together a team/clan for RANKED Gears of War sweats. I know Redlum08 aka Masterchief08 in that. What about:
Arcman
Odion
Shiv
Viv (when he gets DSL)
and any other 360 owner.
I propose we use this thread from now on to organise sweats. So how does this friday sound?

Well, I will be moving to Florida by the beginning of next month. So, DSL and Live will be coming soon after. I was never a competitive gamer (in any genre) like you guys, though, but I go try it out and see how it goes. I made it through Insane alone so I should be at least ok. When I get hooked up, I will let you know.

Lag is very Rare Camre, I mean I am in NY on Cable Modem and I get lag, it depends on the server you connecting to and who hosting. W1nTry and CowSquad rarely have lag and they are on TSTT in Trinidad, most of the time our connection is great and gameplay is flawless. You should consider joining us once you get your 360 back.

lol. You're gonna get lag BECAUSE you're on cable. The upload is awful, especially if you're with OO, as I was for a few years. I was getting 12Mb down and like 75kb up :| If you are on OO tho, call them and tell them to uncap you ;)

WTF!!! How dare you! I fully intend on putting in some quality time when my xbox gets back. Which is next week and providing my ISP comes fix the lines, internet went down on wednesday night, supposed to come check/change modem today. I hope they don't string me along!!!!!

Best way to do it is one of us hosts the game (usually Redlum08) then he invites ppl to the match. The public matches end up with ANYONE, but we usually go private. Once someone is invited, they can invite anyone on their list. If you just do a search, it'll pick up random games, thus it;d be near impossible to find him. Once any of us are online, just send us a message and we can pull you in and vice versa.

Hey Redlum test ur connection on d xbox and see if ur NAT open. If not go into ur modem/router and go in Port Forwarding/Port Triggering and open ports 88 and 3074(port forwarding) or 80-90 and 3070-3080(port triggering). That shuld allow d best connection 4 evry1. Also evry1 else who plays GOW online shuld open these ports to make it easier to connect 2 each other. Jus thought allyuh shuld know

Wintry i doh know how u survivin this cause i had rrod 4 3 months now (beginning of summer) and i fraid to carry up my 360 cause i mite get it bak in 4 months or sumtin and i will not be very happy. i just using d towel trick till my 360 turn 2 dust.

Foreign, OpenDNS address to be exact.
I have my 360 using the DNS address with no issues, and on my pc it resolves alot faster than TSTT's Pre-Blink servers did, even though the ping is a little higher.
Combination of these two DNS servers got rid of all my TSTT issues. (Second address is the Blink DNS server)
Could also use Cariblink servers if you want a T&T based DNS server.

You'll see most of us online mostly at the end of the week. Friday nights, Saturday nights, occassionally during the week, since most of us here work and are pretty busy. But don't worry there is lots of time in 2008..:)

Yea I know I got her message, well thing is I checked the Status last night on Xbox.com and it said that there are problems importing Gamertags and they are working on resolving. You can check the status by going onto Xbox.com and going to "Support" Front Page. The status currently is UP AND RUNNING, so try again tonight if you can it should work. I think it was only last night live was still giving problems.

On a sad note....i went to the doctor a couple days ago.
Crixx and some others know im pre-diabetic. I cant drink heavy anymore.......*OH GAWD LIFE IS OVER*
I am allowed 2 drinks or the equivalent....MAX...a day. nothing more since alcohol itself has sugar in it....that kinda VERY high
So for the friday night drunk limes....i sorry folks...i goin to be sober for them :(

Just wait till I get a smaller TV to play Halo 3 on, cause I can't play Halo 3 on my 55" for $hit...I can play COD 4 fine but for some reason my Halo 3 skills have suffered. But then again I don't sweat Halo 3 as much as I used to, COD 4 has spoiled me....

Well I from trincity but does go to school in town...travel everyday (phear gettin rob seriously tings bad) and they do have ah shyt load ah suspects (gunt@ men) does be roaming from bout 2 oclock till...
But otherwise I will only be able to be online on Friday nights (about 8) and satuday nights same time, also sunday afternooon bout 5ish.(all cuz ah school)
This week I should be sweating on Wed night (22nd) cuz I stayin home thursday.

I thought I would reply in this thread cause this is the 360 sweat thread. Basically, I am more of a single player type of gamer. I was never really into multiplayer games aside from the occasional bouts of Age of Empires II and various N64 games. Also, at this point in time, I have literally over a hundred brand new (original) games for various consoles and handhelds that I have not touched except for removing the shrink wrap and admiring the box. Maybe when I make a dent in that pile, I may consider trying out some multiplayer stuff. Then again, there is always World of Warcraft to dive back into ... and Rock Band ...

I thought I would reply in this thread cause this is the 360 sweat thread. Basically, I am more of a single player type of gamer. I was never really into multiplayer games aside from the occasional bouts of Age of Empires II and various N64 games. Also, at this point in time, I have literally over a hundred brand new (original) games for various consoles and handhelds that I have not touched except for removing the shrink wrap and admiring the box. Maybe when I make a dent in that pile, I may consider trying out some multiplayer stuff. Then again, there is always World of Warcraft to dive back into ... and Rock Band ...

We need to set up a regualar sweat schedule. I find we real disorganized. The games could be COD 4, GOW and HALO 3.
Suggestions for dates and time for each are welcome. Example
COD4 Fridays 9pm
GOW Saturday 8pm
HALO 3 Sunday 5pm
Keep in mind Cowsquad can't bring in rumbaby of COD 4 because of no split screen. If we could get at least 6-8 people for COD4 we can do private matches on small maps like shipment, wet work, showdown, bog.

Yes, I agree with Silva, Jewish Monk tends to boast a little too much, we game for fun, is not competition we having...
Monk, you need to tone it down a bit man, if it's competition you want then you have to arrange a time for a competition so that people have time to prepare / train. Most of us work and don't have as much time as you school folk.
I used to be much better at Halo, but I have not played Halo 3 as much as I have COD 4 hence my skill level has dropped with regards to Halo 3, I don't even play ranked due to lack of good team mates, but my interest in halo 3 honestly has dropped drastically since COD 4 came out.
Men like Silva, W1nTry, Spartan, Merceneri, Shivadee, we all play for the fun of the game, not the competition, we not winning anything, if you want to brag and boast about beating up on men who rarely play Halo 3 then go ahead, but that's no accomplishment in my book...We are about Teamwork not beating up on one another....

I know yuh small an ting but juss approach the men an tell them you looking for a game.The only way to gain respect in a cafe is to know the people and let them know you have potential.Talking form experience, first time I went cafe I didnt talk to nobody but meh padna (the owner).We run some Warcraft..I get a$$wash and went home.I went bac and after getting a little better at the game I keep on playing and I star to share licks.Eventually i get drafted into the "clan" and well I juss give up on dota now.. XBL FTW.

The tournament is carded for March 24 (easter monday) at the centre of excellence. You can take a break from exams, its just one day. You seem to have natural talent for FPS :lol:

More importantly, when/how we preparing for this ppls, we need to train as a team otherwise it'll be a really sad state when we link up for the actual tourny. As it stands I am way out of practice on COD4 but that's mainly cause my connection to large games tends to lag, which drives me crazy to no end, so I have relegated myself to not playing until I get blink or some other form of high speed internet.... I believe I should be fine with smaller games that are limited to our players as opposed to some random connection on XBL. Just let me know when yuh want to sweat so I can try to put aside the time. This weekend is more or less out save sunday night.

The ranking system is different, as you gain experience (wins, kills) you rank up by a number and if you lose or quit a match you rank down.
The number rank/skill rating seems to have no bearing against who you played with since as a rank 1 and ago at a 12 we played 100, 23,32s etc.
Therefore finding matches is quick than with the previous system.

why would you use hdmi to dvi, you hooking it up to monitor. It supposed to come with hdmi to hdmi. If you use hdmi to dvi only, you wont get sound.

MOnitors don't typically have sound. DVI is the noraml input for a monitor so HDMI (Xbox) to Monitor (DVI) makes perfect sense. On the other hand you're quite right you lose sound. Thus it would prolly be better to get the VGA kit for the Xbox, but then if the monitor doesn't support VGA crappo smoke yuh pipe. EIther way, better to have a screen with no sound than nothing at all.

Was responding to this. I assumed since it was arcman he should have a bess monitor. My bro has a bess 24 inch dell and with hdmi to hdmi it has sound.
You could also just use a female RCA to male 3.5 mm adapter for the sound in addition to the hdmi to dvi cable.

The mic connects once you have your controller on...did you hold down the button on the mouthpiece? there is a small button where the 4 lights are on the mic which allows you to sync with the Xbox.

There is a distinct difference between beta testing and abusing a loophole arc. GOW and GOW2 had glitches and they were insane to accomplish imho, unless you beta tested with thousands of ppl specifically looking for cheats you would NOT have found them. Besides thats what patches are for, you of ALL ppl should know that.
Oh and just so you know, we still beat the cheaters :p even benefitted from their glitch (care package glitch)... won the match with it if I recall XD

Nah Cory, just like in GOW, they will exploit the glitches until a patch can be made to remedy it. If the Glitch is something that can't be corrected, the action is to report them to XBL and have those accounts banned. Even so we can select to avoid those accounts in XBL anyways. And well we still cut they @$$ so small thing.

MW2 hmmmmm... dat sweat last night... was actually a lot of fun yes, de problem I had in de start was dat I didnt know de choke points on de maps, but when I followed allyuh around found em pretty fast. It took a while to get used to de controls(got used to Bad Company 2) but as soon as I did killin became much easier. I got killed a lot but also got some kills in myself and quite a few last kill slo-mo moments in de end, if I get used to de maps I am seriously sorry for de bitch slap I goin an hit men. But one thing for sure as de judge and jury(Arcman an Notnice) say, dis game can only be played on a console, only there will I accept having to wait so mc long to join ah game, if it runnin de same way on pc dais real balls.
All in all had a lot of fun, de only shocking part was... I thought I coulda cuss but a woman on we XBL party show me I am still at kindergarten level yes(sorry I dont know peoples name by their voice yet first time). Oh and de name was picked juss due to necessity it was created cause mih bro juss wanted to get on XBL and didnt care what de name on de account was.

Talked to Silva on MSN a lil while ago, he say he still have to set-up his Xbox again, so perhaps within the next few days or so.
As for Warone, good sweat, as W1nTry said, wait times vary depending on how connections are, most of the time we back out to the lobby if someone gets dropped from the party, otherwise we rarely have problems. As for the maps, we can run Private matches to get you used to them no probs.
Would you happen to have GOW for Xbox? perhaps join us in a GOW sweat too? :P

^ yes arc, i'm less than inspired by bf3 atm.... I was expecting EPIC SP experience and EPIC MP... instead we got MEH SP and EPIC MP... and on the console its more like meh SP and Ok MP.... I didn't expect such MEH factor for all the hype...

Hey I too had no idea that there was so much Trini gamers on LIVE...I only realized that while playing MW3 over the last seven days...
I even played a few matches with [TnT]dipshun and [TnT]Picong (seen in W1nTry's BO pic on page 17)...yea ah does remember many of the trinis I see on LIVE hehe

I don't have either of those titles myself, but (almost) everyone else on my friends list does,

Well, obviously I'm not a big buyer of Xbox titles.
I just bought Ghost Recon Future Soldier though. Has lots of co-op.
Other games I have that I occasionally dabble in are:
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Forza Motorsport 4
Ace Combat 6/Assault Horizon
Red Dead Redemption
I actually have more PS3 than Xbox 360 games, so that's where I'm at mostly when I'm on console.
